It’s been three years since I reviewed my favorite WiFi scanner / finder, Canary Wireless’s Digital Hotspotter. I’ve reviewed other scanners, but always liked the Hotspotter best due to its one button super fast scanning ability. That’s why I was very happy when the folks at Canary Wireless sent me their 2nd generation Digital Hotspotter HS-20 to review.

If you’re a uke player or a guitar player and also own a Palm PDA or smartphone, you might want to read the article that I posted the other day on my Ukulele Review site. I’m going to follow up in a week or so with another article looking at the same type of applications

As I read Julie’s review of the Timbuk2 messenger bag, I couldn’t help but think of my own choice in gear-hauling. The ‘2’ is a fine bag and the design possibilities are unlimited. I looked at such bags while I was shopping for a new hauler. I knew I didn’t want just a backpack or rucksack; they get tangled on furniture as you walk by and they are too big for everyday carry. I need room for a book, a sweater and a water bottle, not a sleeping bag and a tent.

A while back, I posted an article about my beloved Palm T/X and how it was doing after a couple years of use. (See the article here.) One major finding was the loss of calibration that was driving me crazy- I had to literally tap the very bottom edge of the screen to access the lower row of buttons.

I’ve reviewed more iPod silicone skin style cases than I care to remember or admit ;o) As a result, when a new company approaches me to review their skin case, I’m not all that excited about the prospect. ifrogz is a company that has sent me skins to review in the past. They actually offer one of the better products on the market in that genre, so my eyes didn’t immediately glaze over when I saw their email offer to review the Audiowrapz silicone case for the iPod nano 3G.

I work with Julie, and one afternoon we were talking about various iPod accessories. She’s never used anything
from the iLuv line of iPod accessories, so I volunteered to write a review. This is a review of the iLuv i177BLK.

Last October I received a pile of cases and accessories from Tom Bihn. Over the years I’d reviewed several Tom Bihn products, all bought with my own hard earned cash – no review samples. Tom Bihn’s products are very good value I think, but a little expensive. When reviewing a case that represents days of toil in your day job, even the most tolerant of reviewers is likely to be a little more harsh. Tom Bihn’s stuff has always come out shining – not perfect, but always well worth the money.

We live in a world were the Internet and phone access is necessary for our business and personal lives. Most of us take the access we have for granted. When traveling, I cannot find a Hotspot everywhere. Most people are using 3G networks now that provide that much needed access. But, there are still a few places in our world where getting access to the internet is hard or even impossible. I have wondered about how
one would manage to get a connection in Iraq or Bosnia, or in the middle of Africa? Enter BGAN.
BGAN is short for Broadband Global Area Network, and it works thru the
Inmarsat Satellite network. Today I will be reviewing the Thrane Explorer 500 Portable Sat Terminal.

Last month at Macworld Expo I had the opportunity to meet the folks from Sena. After working with them for years, it was nice to finally shake their hands and put faces to the names. When I got back from Macworld, I had a whole gaggle of iPhone cases arrive from them to review. Let’s take a look…
I can’t believe that it’s been almost eight years since we had a review of an Incipio case on The Gadgeteer! Back then, the review was of a generic PDA case. Today I have three iPhone very different cases for you to take a look at.

Released in November of last year, the latest offering of Opera Mini, version 4, hasn’t really sent shockwaves through the World of cell phones. Whilst the iPhone browser (which I think is very annoying!) has been hailed as a revolutionary success, Mini has taken the sidelines slightly, but as I have learned, this isn’t really a position it deserves.
