Apple has been particularly
busy these past few months. We’ve seen updated aluminum iMacs, the new

fatty and of course, we can’t forget the mega hyped
iPhone. Redefining
both mobile phones and digital media players, the iPhone has made a definite
dent in tech history. Now we have the iPod touch. This device takes all the
music and video related features that have made the iPhone so popular, and made
them available to people that don’t want to switch carriers or phones.
Oops, did I just say that out loud? ;o) Seriously, Iβm getting pretty burnt out on writing about iPods. I guess thatβs to be expected when it is pretty much all that Iβve been working on this week. First I posted the iPod classic review, then yesterday it was the iPod nano review and today

Of the three updated iPods that Apple recently announced, I would have to say that the updates to the nano have caused me more excitement than the 160GB classic and the touch screen enabled iPod touch. To date, the nano has been Apple’s smallest audio player with a color display. But now it’s evolved into a video player as well. Dubbed the ‘fatty’, the new nano is anything but pudgy. It’s as thin as ever, but now has a wide display capable of showing your favorite videos and movies.

Everyone please join me in wishing Rob a very happy birthday today. Without him, The Gadgeteer wouldnβt run like the well oiled machine that it is. He keeps the server in tip top shape, adds new features to the code that runs the site and even manages to contribute a review every now and again.

The globally popular Apple iPod video has been updated with a new face, a new interface, higher storage capacity and even a new name. It’s now called the iPod classic, which may sound like a name that would be given to a low end model, but this isn’t the case with the new iPod classic. This
classic may not be tiny like the new “fatty” nano, or have a touch screen like the new iPod touch. But neither of those devices are available in capacities of 80 or 160GB, enabling you can carry your entire music and video library with you in your pocket. Today I’m going to tell you about the 160GB version of this device.
Besides all my regular shows from last season: Prison Break, Heroes, Survivor, Greyβs Anatomy, ER, How I Met Your Mother, Biggest Loser, and probably lots of others which I canβt recall right now, Iβm looking forward to checking out the following new shows: The Big Brain Theory β a new CBS comedy about geeks that

At this point in my life, I’m going through a Zen phase. Zen is all about relaxing and de-stressing. My biggest cause of stress is clutter, so as a result, I’m trying to get rid of all the things that cause clutter and disorganization in my life. As The Gadgeteer, probably the main sources of my clutter are all the cables and AC adapters that I have scattered about for my various devices. One solution to my mess of cables and wall warts comes from Gomadic. Their new QuadCharge Universal Charging Station allows you to charge four devices in a tidy manner that only requires the use of one wall outlet.

Every geek has their own personal arsenal of tools. For me they happen to be my 24″ iMac that I sit in front of every night pounding out reviews, a smartphone, iPod and last but not least, a can of Diet Coke. Yes, Diet Coke is a very important tool in my role as The Gadgeteer. Without it, I might not be able to type into the

During the heyday of the Palm OS PDA, we used to talk about ‘laptop killers’- how to turn your Visor, Clie or Palm into a complete laptop-like device. The keystone issue- the ‘make it or break it’ crux of the problem- was live note-taking in a class or meeting.
