I just had my best bud help me choose a random winner for the Sony Ericsson w810i phone give-away. The winner is Shimon Shnitzer of ShSh Software fame (Wow, I wonder if that means he’ll give me free apps for the rest of my life? Just kidding). Congrats Shimon! For everyone else that tried, don’t

Have you ever left your house, gotten a few miles away and asked yourself or a passenger in your car, did I close the garage door? Maybe you have even turned around to check, just to put your mind at ease. I know that I have. To be completely honest, I have done this numerous times. To the point that it is a running joke between my wife and I, since I often ask her if I closed the garage door.

Continuing with my weekly mobile phone mini-reviews, my latest 2 day phone stint has been with the i-mate JAQ3. I received this device directly from i-mate after attending the Mobius Boston event last fall. This Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC device appears to have a lot going for it given its impressive feature set.

If you are a photographer or snapshot enthusiast, you probably often find yourself in situations where a tripod would come in handy. This is especially true when you wish to include yourself in a group picture. The problem is that lugging around a tripod everywhere you go can be somewhat inconvenient. What if you had a tripod that stowed easily in a gear bag and could stick to almost anything? The MonsterPod claims to do just that. Let’s see if the claims are true.

I’ve started a weekly feature where I will post a mini review on a phone that I’ve used for 2 days instead of my usual 2 weeks. These phones are typically not the latest and greatest models (except for my first review of the HTC S620 and this week’s review of the i-Mate JAQ3). They

Now here’s a great idea that gave me one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” feelings when I first saw it. It’s the Rise & Shine Deluxe Natural Alarm Clock Bedside Lamp from Verilux. This company sells a variety of illumination products. I actually reviewed their HappyLite Mini Ultra earlier this month. The Rise & Shine combines a clock, radio and lamp all in one device.

What kind of mobile phone person are you? Smartphone or feature phone? I’m the type of person that likes to take a vacation from smartphones once in awhile and use a feature phone instead. My current vacation in feature phone land has been with the Sony Ericsson w810i. This is a great little candy bar

I use my Palm Tx for a lot of things- even as a fancy alarm clock and mini-MP3 player. I usually use the default player if it does what I want and the installed version of NormSoft’s Pocket Tunes v3 Basic Edition did a decent job for me. Easy to use, fun skins, sleep timer, etc. I was pretty happy with it… until they released Pocket Tunes v4 a few weeks ago.
