When it comes to gadgets, I think product design is a key area to think about.  Some people might argue that build quality is more important and ultimately, I may tend to agree to an extent.   However, when a gadget has an eye-catching design that really turns heads, then it certainly has to be worth a second look! The Jelfin ball shaped mouse has a soft gel covering and has been designed with ergonomics and comfort in mind. I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t look very ergonomic to me. Although it might be soft to the touch, it seems like it would be uncomfortable to curl your hand over it. What [...]

I remember in grade-school staying up late with the lights off in my room listening to Toledo Goaldiggers hockey games on my portable black RCA transistor radio.  I remember picking up a St. Louis station from my then home in Toledo and thinking how cool that was. Pin it

The Vibe and Shake speakers from Tunebug are designed to turn any flat surface into a speaker. I’ve reviewed similar speakers here before and usually ended up disappointed (although the Kerchoonz K-box Gel speaker was great) in the sound quality. The Shake caught my eye because it includes mounts for bike, skateboard and ski helmets. [...]

Recently, Julie posted that she still gets a lot of interest in the old MailStation email device more than ten years after it was reviewed.  People still want to provide some method for getting email to older relatives who have no interest in using a computer.  The HP Printing Mailbox uses the Presto service used [...]

One of the interesting purposes of the Vibram FiveFinger foot glove (floove?) is to allow the user to walk or run shoeless yet avoid toe hazards such as rocks, glass, thistles and other callous-causing objects.  There are several different models designed for various activities including running, hiking, and kayaking. Some people are of the opinion [...]

As with all their products, Clickfree engineers simple backup solutions that provide users with the ability to store and transfer data from one computer to the next. Basically your iPod/iPhone turns into a portable flash drive that is compatible with both the OSX 10.5.4 + and PC platforms (including Windows 7 support). Instead of forking [...]

The holidays might be over, but are you still feeling the holiday spirit? Are you the kind of person that changes your ringtone to Jingle Bells in keeping with the festivities? Then FestiveTones is for you. Some of you may remember MailTones that was reviewed previously here at the Gadgeteer. The premise is still the [...]

Saddleback Leather Company is well known for their rugged bags that are constructed to last a lifetime. A claim which they back up with a whopping 100yr warranty. I’ve reviewed several of their bags in the past couple of years, but this is the first time that they’ve offered to send me one of their [...]

The Android Press conference is still going on, but they have already activated the web site to buy the new Nexus One phone. As expected, it is available both unlocked and at a reduced rate with T-Mobile service. The reduced cost is $179 and the unlocked version is $529. It is an impressive piece of hardware. Quick [...]

If you like to share your photographs and you don’t have an Eye-Fi card, you are missing out.  I just bought my first one about a month ago, and I love it. Fortunately for us mobile shutterbugs, Eye-Fi just announced their latest model, the Pro X2.  At 8GB, it doubles the max capacity of their [...]

Recently we had a post about a digital frame with a built-in scanner.  Now here’s the iMo Photo Frame with a built-in printer!  Pictures display on an 8″ 800 X 600 pixel LCD screen.  The frame has 1 GB internal memory, and it has slots for USB, SD, CF, and other memory cards.  The built-in printer [...]

I own two cats, Wylie (who behaves as though he’s the Pharaoh of Egypt) and Hammy (given to me by a homeless person) who is a spaz.  I love cats.  I also like dogs and I have two of those as well. But one thing I hate is cleaning up after my cats.  I have [...]

Get on your soap box and declare frugality for the New Year. A buck can get you a nifty if not thrifty MP3 case.  Comes in a rainbow of colors, is easily replaceable and can stow not only the player, but a set of ear-buds, a USB cable, and a few M&M’s.  All this in [...]

HP’s A826 Compact Photo Printer is designed as an easy and fun-to-use, space-saving photo printer. Featuring a nice color touch screen and a housing that looks like something from Wall-E, it at least accomplishes that goal. How is it otherwise? Pin it

Wearable Inc. has put up a barebones website for their new AirStash device, which is billed as a “wireless media server” for mobile devices (the iPhone is mentioned specifically).  Not much information is given, other than the fact that the AirStash will be officially unveiled at CES 2010 — no price, no availability date, no [...]

I’ve watched entirely too many scary movies this past weekend, so when I saw the PeepHole Viewer from Solutions, I thought it looked like a great idea. It’s a device that replaces the existing peephole in your door and displays the image on a 2¼”x1½” LCD screen that is powered by 2 AA batteries. It [...]

I seem to be obsessed by USB flash drive jewelry, but apparently I’m not the only one.  ThinkGeek has a man’s watch with an 8 GB USB drive hidden on the back of the watch face.  The watch is black polyurethane with a stainless steel “frame” around the watch face and a mineral crystal.  In [...]
