Treo 680

I just found a Cingular branded Treo 680 on my front porch (It’s 11pm here). I had been expecting one to be delivered all day, but the FedEx person never arrived. Or so I thought… Evidently they did at one point during the afternoon / evening and didn’t bother to ring the doorbell. Grrrr. Anyway, […]

Nuwai Luxeon III TM-303X LED Flashlight

A good flashlight for the ordinary person is like most tools, only appreciated when needed. If you’re anything like me, you probably don’t use a flashlight every day. Or even once a week. But when the need arrises, you’re always happy to have a reliable one at hand. I’m happy to tell you about the TM-303X; a small robust little light from Nuwai, which is available in Black and Titanium finishes.

DocuPen RC800 Handheld Color Scanner

When I reviewed PLANon’s DocuPen R700 portable scanner almost one year ago, I immediately realized how handy this device could be to a wide variety of people. Having a full page scanner that can easily stow in a gear bag was quite liberating. The only problem with the R700, was the fact that it scanned only in Black and White, and didn’t really do that great of a job. Luckily, PLANon, didn’t stop with the R700. They now have the RC800, which can scan in full 24bit color.

Cube World Series 2

One of my favorite computer games that I had on my Commodore 64 was called Little Computer People by Activision. Think of it as The SIMs, but just with one person and really really simple. Back in the day it was a lot of fun to just watch the little person walking around his house doing all sorts of activities. That game was on the market about 20 years ago. These days you don’t need a computer to have your own little computer person on your desk. You just need a cube.

3rd Degree

I returned the Zune and Everex laptop to Walmart today. It’s been awhile since I’d purchased electronics from them and had to return something, so I wasn’t too surprised when they had to call up someone from that department to come to the service area to check things out. I figured it was for the

HoMedics iCush Immersive Audio Sync Seat

Remember this past Spring when I reviewed the QUAD-Roller Massaging Cushion from HoMedics? Now this mostly home health product maker has branched out to create a home entertainment product. The iCush, is a what HoMedics describes as a immersive audio sync seat. Translated into plain gadgeteer speak, it’s a cushion that automatically vibrates to sound input, and has built in speakers.

Zune Update

I went ahead and picked up a Zune last night along with a cheapo Everex laptop at my good old Super Walmart store. I opted for the White version because to me the Black one is boring and the Brown one looks… well… I’m not going to say it… ;o) So far I’ve only managed

HP iPAQ hw6945 Mobile Messenger

Trying to find my perfect smartphone has been causing me the same frustration as trying to find my perfect gear bag. The quest just never ends because I’ve come to realize that there isn’t any one perfect phone (or gear bag) out there for me. The whole trick is to find one that comes as close as possible. This review is for the Hewlett Packard iPAQ hw6945 Mobile Messenger; a Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC phone. The question is, will it become my new “perfect” smartphone?

VTech mi6879 Expandable Cordless Phone System

As The Gadgeteer, I feel like I am not doing my job if I don’t have the latest and greatest mobile phones in my pocket, but when it comes to my landline phone, it is a 2yr old 2.4GHz boring Panasonic answering machine / handset. Whee… You know me though, I’m always up for trying something new, so when the folks representing Vtech asked if I would like to test some of their phones, I said sure!

Kensington Entertainment Dock 500

Earlier this year, I reviewed Marware’s iPod Dock with Remote. I found it an easy way to watch the videos and slideshows stored on my iPod through my television. This product did have a few quirks though, so I was interested in how it might compare to Kensington’s Entertainment Dock 500. Lucky for me, they asked me to review it.
