Boxwood Storage Tubes – Store your smalls in wooden tubes

I have a storage fetish. I like little metal tins, boxes, pouches, etc. When I saw these Boxwood Storage Tubes in a Lee Valley catalog that came in the mail the other day, I knew I’d be placing a order. These screw top wooden tubes are made in France by a family known for their wood turning skills. They are light weight and come in 2 sizes which are priced at $3.95 – $4.95 each. I’m not sure what I’ll end up keeping in the ones I order, but think they will look great as they age and get a nice patina.

That’s pretty neat. They remind me of Batman’s utility belt cartridges from the 70′-80′era.

Looks like a nice housing for a thumb drive.

I’ll probably be boring and use the ones I ordered for aspirin ;)

I wonder how moisture will affect the threads. Will they swell and make it difficult to open and close?

@Eric Don’t go swimming with them ;)

@Julie, I don’t know what part of the country you are in, but here in Georgia the humidity level can make it seem like you are swimming just walking to your car.

My father brought a set of Matryoshka Dolls back from Russia. In the summer, they are very difficult to open because the wood swells from the humidity. I expect those storage tubes will have the same problem, only a lot worse because of the threads.

@Eric I’m located in Indiana and we get a lot of humidity in the summer. Not sure how well these tubes will perform, but I’ll let everyone know what I think of them when they arrive. I ordered one of each.
