The New York Public Library is making their reference collections available through a series of iPad apps, beginning with this exploration of the 1939-40 New York’s World’s Fair.  You can investigate the development of the Fair’s designs, buildings, and exhibits.  You can read original essays by prominent writers of the time, and examine picture galleries.  The NYPL Biblion: World’s Fair app is for iPad only.  It is free in the iTunes app store.

And then download the ebook “The Devil in the White City” by Erik Larson, a great read in the era of the World’s Fair in 1893.

Now this sounds interesting to me- I love history especially of stories a few years before WWII broke out.
