I think that it’s safe to say that most of the gadget geeks that read this site will automatically think of one company when a person mentions the words leather and luxury in the same sentence. That company is Vaja. But did you all know that Vaja wasn’t the first company to bring opulent PDA / gadget cases to market? Before Vaja, there was a company in Italy called Ondata. Ondata later turned into Orbino. While not as prolific as Vaja, Orbino cases mix old world craftsmanship with a touch of industrial design.

Apple changed the digital audio player landscape when it replaced its popular Hard Disk Drive (HDD) based iPod Mini with the flash-based iPod Nano. This shift forced competitors to launch their own version, which further propelled the demand for flash-based players and, in my opinion, altered the digital audio player market forever. One such device is the digital audio player by Brando. Let’s see how Brando’s latest audio device stacks up.

I came home last night to find a replacement 24″ iMac on my front porch… To catch everyone up, I had ordered one at the end of September before attending Mobius. I enjoy cooking and tend to be the main person in my household to do this task everyday. Until now, my method for timing dishes on the stove and oven has been accomplished using the timer in the microwave, the grandfather clock in the living room and the timer built into my stove. That doesn’t sound like a problem does it? Well it is when you forget what time source was used for which dish. And then there’s the fact that the grandfather clock doesn’t actually buzz when the time is up.

I love games that I can pick up and almost instinctively know the rules for, and that play fast so I can just do it and put it away. This freeware version of the classic game Breakout accomplishes both.

My current favorite Bluetooth headset is the Cardo Systems scala-500 that I reviewed earlier this summer. This headset comes with a clip that allows you to hook it on your eye / sunglasses. This one is for all of you travelers out there. Start rejoicing, because I’m going to tell you about a gadget that will replace that soggy ziploc baggie that no self-respecting gadgeteer should be using. You know what I’m talking about, we all know that Blue and Yellow make Green, but do we really want to use a baggie to hold our toothbrush and toothpaste, when we can use something cool like the OHSO Marco Travel Toothbrush instead? I didn’t think so.

Power adapters. These bulky bricks are a necessary evil for electronics, even more so for gadget lovers. My gear bag is daily weighed down by several power adapters and when I travel my bag contains at least 5-6 adapters.
Many devices are now able to be charged via USB or Firewire, but on a laptop ports can be a premium. Additionally, many laptops do not charge external devices while in sleep mode.
