STM Asks “Does This Case Make My iPad 2 Look skinny?”

The skinny case from STM is a for the person who wants full coverage for their iPad 2 without adding a lot of thickness and bulk.  The skinny has a hard-shell back cover that snaps over the corners of the iPad 2 and leaves all ports and controls accessible.  The front cover has the magnet that sleeps/wakes the iPad 2, and it closes securely with a tab that slides into a slot on the back cover.  The front cover can be folded back into a stand for viewing or typing; the tab and slot closure system keeps the case securely folded.  The skinny case has a 300D water resistant micro ripstop polyester and a micro suede interior.  Dimensions are 9.5 x 7.5 x 0.5 inches, and it weighs 5.6 ounces.  It’s available in black, sage, or mushroom for $39.99 at Radtech, eBags, and Altrec.

I’ve been waiting for a case like this. I like the Smart Cover, but would rather have front and back coverage plus the auto-on feature. Think this one will do. Just ordered from eBags. A 20% discount today, which basically equals free shipping.

I really like the fact that this case covers the back of the iPad, which is a big flaw in the design of the smart cover. Unfortunately, both this and the smart cover are way too expensive for what they are! Polyester, vinyl and cheap bonded leather are dirt cheap and not worth the $40 to $70 this company or Apple wants to charge.
