SquareTrade is a company that offers extended warranties for high end electronic devices like cameras, tablets, smart phones, etc. This video from them shows the damage that happens when a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S3 and an iPhone 4s are subjected to 3 of the most common accidents: dropped to pavement from ear level, in the hands of young children, and accidentally left on the hood of a car. I have to warn you folks, that this video is tough to watch. I think I shed a tear or two… really. If watching this video inspires you to purchase an extended warranty for your phone, $89 will cover a 64GB iPhone 4S for 2 years and $124.95 will cover a typical Android phone for 2yrs. A $50 deductible applies to all claims, but you can collect up to 4 times for damage from spills, drops and even normal wear and tear.

SquareTrade is GREAT!!! I have over 50 active warranties with them and they HONOR them when claim is filed. I know from having products insured either replaced or money given for EXACTLY what you paid excluding sales taxes. Also SquareTrade has discount codes. Just ‘Google’ for them.
Ouch that did hurt to watch!
I would have thunk that the Samsung would have fared better after watching this drop test last week on CNET:

I bought my SG3 two days ago, and I really regret I did it so late. The device is the best one I ever touched and used. Its quality is excellent, and I still wonder why some people keep telling iPhones are better.Check 7 Unique Features of the Samsung Galaxy S III
