ARTICLE β While browsing tech news over the years, Iβve spied articles about secret Netflix codes that allow you to do particular things. I never really paid attention to them until now. I recently read an article about how to skip Netflixβs algorithm using codes to get directly to the genres/subgenres youβre interested in. The CNET article mentioned that there are over 36,000 codes available but apparently no single place to find a list of all of them.
However, there are websites like Netflix-codes.com that help you find those that are perhaps most applicable to you.
Netflix-codes.com is a website that lists lots of Netflix codes to obtain a much more comprehensive list of genres and shows than you would otherwise from Netflixβs algorithm. You can either type in the code directly into the Netflix search box, replace the βxxβ with your code in the URL address βhttps://netflix.com/browse/genre/xxβ, or click on the code in the Netflix-codes.com website. How easy is that?
Another option is to add a Chrome browser extension to find more Netflix categories when watching online. All you have to do is go to the Chrome Web Store and search on βNetflix categoriesβ to get a list of extensions you can install to help you find more genres.
Now I can search a much more thorough list of shows within the specific genre I want. Happy bingeing!

This is a really useful tip! I had no idea that Netflix had these secret codes to unlock so many hidden categories. It’s like discovering a whole new library within Netflix. I’m definitely going to try some of these out to find some more niche genres and shows that I wouldn’t normally come across. Thanks for sharing this handy trick!
