Last year I reviewed the Coast LED Lenser Auto LED (TT7575), a nifty little LED flashlight specifically designed to fit in your car’s 12V power port (cigarette lighter socket). Like anything that is new and useful, imitations start to appear. Today I want to show you the Spotlight LED flashlight from Weiguo Solutions. Let’s see if this little flashlight is either a lame copy of the original, or a much better version.

So who else felt the earthquake this morning? I live in southern Indiana, and was lying in bed when it happened. I actually didn’t feel a thing. I just heard some weird noises and thought it was Max my cat running up and down the hall like a wacko. Then the DJ on the radio
What is the worst thing about setting up a stereo speaker system? In my opinion, it’s running all the necessary wires. I always said that if I ever build a new house, that it will have speaker wiring pre-installed in all the walls. But for an existing house without this feature, what do you do to get around this issue? You can either buy a wireless speaker system, or you can check out a wireless audio adapter like the one I’m going to tell you about today from Audioengine. The AW1 Premium Wireless Audio Adapter is designed for Audioengine’s A5 speaker system (my current favorite speakers), but will work with any other speakers just fine.

One of the great things about PDA’s is the ability to carry a huge library of books in electronic form. I must have a couple hundred books on mine, ranging from reference to how-to to light fiction. It is sweet to be able to carry 20-30 pounds worth of paper in a few ounces of electronics!
Many Palm users use this ability to carry one or more versions of the Bible with them- makes those cute, little, nearly impossible to read ‘pocket-sized’ Bibles obsolete! There are many options for ‘e-Bibles’, from iPod versions to MP3 spoken versions to e-texts that can be read by most text readers, to dedicated readers with special tools for the job. These last versions are what we will look at here.

You know what I love about being The Gadgeteer? Those times when one of my friends or co-workers say something like “I sure wish I had a gadget that would allow me to [fill in the blank].” Just the other day, I overheard someone say that they wished they had a quick and dirty way to connect a bare SATA hard drive to their computer to copy files from it. I immediately told them that I had just what they needed, the 2.5″ and 3.5″ SATA HDD dock with USB hub from Brando.

I love my 15 inch Macbook Pro when I use it at home on the couch, but my affection wears thin when I travel with it. Carrying it a gear bag slung over my shoulder and having to pull it out at various airport security checks, does get old. That’s why anytime I see a small computer, my interest is immediately piqued. When HP contacted me last week to offer me a look at their new ultra-portable HP2133 Mini-Note PC, I was happy to oblige. Here’s a quick look at it…

They say money makes the world go round, but without power your work won’t get done, period. When using a UMPC with a standard battery, I cannot finish a full day’s work. Most business people that use a laptop or UMPC on a regular basis, will run into that issue as well. Enter Mugen Power of the Netherlands. They have created a line of extended batteries for the most popular handhelds, and UMPCs. They offer a 1 Year warrenty on there products. I contacted them after I learned they make an extended battery for the Sony Vaio U1/U3 line UMPCs. They sent out a review unit right away. Thank you Mugen Power!!

I have been a Mac-guy for over a decade and have owned an iPod since the beginning.
I am currently using an iPod Touch and I take it with me everywhere I go. But
being the gadget-junkie that I am, I was getting a bit bored with my current
lot of tech-toys. So, I started looking into other portable music/video players
to play with. The Samsung
P2 looked like a worthy candidate; it had several features the Touch did
not, a nice form-factor, and it had received rave reviews. I read many reviews
praising the P2 as a less costly (some even said better) alternative to the
Touch. However, those reviews were definitely coming from the perspective of
Windows users. This review will be coming from a Mac/iPod user’s viewpoint.
