REVIEW – When it comes to portable electronics, you can never have too many gadgets or too much power, right? Baseus is offering up this new multi-port, 20,000 mAh, 65W battery pack to satisfy the power part of that equation.  Let’s check out the Baseus digital display quick charge 20000mAh 65W power bank and see if it deserves a spot in your portable charging infrastructure.

What is it?

The Baseus digital display quick charge power bank is a 20,000 mAh battery pack that can charge up to three devices at the same time.

Design and features

The entire Baseus digital display quick charge 20000mAh 65W power bank is wrapped in matte aluminum.  The pack is available in either blue or black finish.  The bottom end contains all the specs and other information.

The top is the business end.

From left to right:

  • USB-C PD input/output port
  • Micro-USB input port
  • USB-A output port #2
  • USB-A output port #1

I’m not sure why they added a dedicated micro-USB input port rather than a second USB-C PD port.

On the front, a small LED display shows charge status and power flow direction.

There is a small button on the left side panel.  Pressing it shows the current charge status.  When the pack is supplying power, a small “OUT” appears to the left of the digits.  When you’re charging the pack, the digits flash, and a small “IN” lights up to the left of the digits.

Setup

The only setup needed is to charge the Baseus digital display quick charge 20000mAh 65W power bank.  You can charge it via either the micro-USB port or the bi-directional USB-C PD port.  If you use a 60W charger, you can completely charge the pack in a couple of hours.

Performance

This battery pack works exactly as expected.  It can charge Samsung phones using Super Fast Charging. It quickly charges my Microsoft Surface Book. As long as I use a 60W or better charger, like these, also from Baseus, the pack charges in two hours. With 20,000 mAh of juice at full charge, it packs enough juice for around three full phone charges for my S20 Ultra.

What I like

  • Good looks
  • Good battery capacity
  • It can charge three devices simultaneously
  • High-power output
  • The digital display is much nicer than deciphering a series of dots

What I’d change

  • Replace the micro-USB port with another USB-C PD port

Final thoughts

The Baseus digital display quick charge 20000mAh 65W power bank is a nice battery pack.  It’s funny how the little things really make a product better.  I mean, let’s face it, this is a battery pack.  It can charge your devices.  There are a ton of them on the market.  So, why should you choose this one?  The capacity is very good. The metal finish is very nice.  The digital display makes this much friendlier to use than a pack without one. This deserves a spot in your on-the-go power bag.

  1. Gadgeteer Comment Policy - Please read before commenting
  2. Looks pretty bulky compared to some of the comparable products out there, like the Anker 20,000 mAh series. I usually go with a skinnier one in case I need to carry it in a pocket.

      1. That makes sense! I typically don’t plan on anything larger than a phone/tablet going off a portable charger but I could see the value if you need to power a small laptop or the like.
