Logitech’s MX Master 4 Developer Edition puts circuit paths, syntax prompts and computing Easter eggs across the shell of its flagship productivity mouse. The $119.99 limited edition keeps the MX Master 4’s haptic controls and MagSpeed scroll wheel, pairing familiar functions with a design aimed at people who spend their day writing code.

The Developer Edition launched October 27. Logitech’s US store is taking preorders, with shipping listed to start October 30.

The etched circuit paths and execution cues turn the mouse itself into a small tribute to computing and open-source history. Those details are the reason to choose this edition over a plain finish. The haptic controls, Actions Ring and scrolling functions carry over from the MX Master 4; the Developer Edition changes the finish.

Shortcuts and feedback under your thumb

The Haptic Sense Panel provides tactile feedback for supported actions, shortcuts and notifications. With Logi Options+ on Windows or macOS, you can adjust its intensity and add compatible third-party app plugins. Feedback can accompany actions such as moving between desktops or adjusting a slider.

The Actions Ring brings a customizable selection of tools and shortcuts to the cursor. Instead of sending your pointer back to an application’s menus for each action, you can choose from that on-screen ring. Its shortcuts and plugins are configured through Logi Options+ too.

Windows 11 also supports native haptic integration for compatible actions and apps. That requires the Windows update released from late March 2026 onward and the appropriate mouse firmware update through Options+.

Scrolling and tracking for a busy desktop

The steel MagSpeed wheel switches between ratcheted and free-spinning scrolling. The 8,000 DPI sensor supports glass tracking, provided the glass is at least 4mm thick.
