REVIEW – I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has been waiting around a while for travel wall chargers to provide enough power for our power-hungry laptops and tablets. I recently got the opportunity to review the Anker PowerPort Atom III 60 W [PowerIQ 3.0 & GaN] Power Delivery USB C Charger. It has only one port – a USB-C Power Delivery (PD) port. I found in my tests that it charged my Lenovo Yoga 730 laptop and my Pixel 2 XL phone at full speed without any issues. And it charged our 12.9″ iPad Pro 2018 much faster than its OEM USB-C charger but charged our Lenovo Yoga C930 laptop a little more slowly than its OEM USB-C charger.

Design and features
The Anker PowerPort Atom III 60 W [PowerIQ 3.0 & GaN] Power Delivery USB C Charger is made of matte black plastic, has an LED status light (in the shape of a bar near the top of the charger in the photo above) to tell you it is plugged into power (it glows blue when plugged in), and has one USB-C power delivery port. The charger uses Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductors to replace the silicon semiconductors which makes this adapter smaller, faster, and more efficient.
The bottom of the charger displays the charger’s specs. It can deliver up to 60 W total output.
Like other travel wall chargers, the Anker’s wall charger’s prongs fold up when not being used.
Because of the GaN tech used in this travel charger, it is a nice small size which makes it ideal for travel.
Performance
My OEM USB-C charger that came with the Lenovo Yoga 730 laptop provides it with 38.2 W. While the OEM USB-C charger that came with the Lenovo Yoga C930 laptop provides it with 55 W (not shown).
The Anker wall charger provided my Yoga 730 laptop with between 38-40.5 W which is around the same as its OEM USB-C charger (38.2 W). I used the Anker wall charger to charge my laptop several times and it was able to do so in 1 hour 45 minutes (from about 19% to 100%). There was one thing I observed – when I plugged my laptop in to charge, my laptop’s charging light would come on, turn off, then come back on again and stay on while the laptop charged. Other than this, there were no problems charging my laptop with the Anker charger.
The Anker charger charged our Lenovo Yoga C930 a little more slowly than its OEM USB-C charger (51 W vs. 55 W) but was able to charge it in about 2 hours (19% to 100%).
The Anker charger also provided about 33 W to our 12.9″ iPad Pro 2018 versus the 17 W provided by its OEM charger.
I then used the Anker charger to successfully charge my Pixel 2 XL phone at its full speed which is about 10 W (I know that this is slow by today’s standards, but my phone is apparently not capable of charging at any higher rate no matter the chargers or cables). It took 2 hours and 20 minutes to charge it. 
The Anker charger also fast-charged our HTC U11 phone at 15 W. Additionally, when the Anker charger is plugged into an outlet, it doesn’t block the other plug.
What I like

- It charges our Lenovo Yoga C930 (51 W) a little more slowly than its OEM USB-C charger (55 W) but is able to still charge the laptop in 2 hours
- It charges our 12.9″ iPad Pro 2018 (33 W) much faster than its OEM charger (17 W)
- The charger is small and doesn’t block the other plug on an outlet

Final thoughts
The Anker PowerPort Atom III 60 W [PowerIQ 3.0 & GaN] Power Delivery USB C Charger is a well-made USB-C PD travel wall charger in a nice slim compact size. It provides up to 60 W of power to devices and thus I was able to charge my Lenovo Yoga 730 (38 W, charging time 1 hour 45 minutes) and Pixel 2 XL (11 W, charging time 2 hours 20 minutes) in the same amount of time as their OEM USB-C chargers (38 W and 10 W respectively). It charged our Yoga C930 laptop a little slower (51 W) than its OEM USB-C charger (55.5 W) but it charged the laptop in 2 hours which is a pretty good time as far as I’m concerned. It also charged our 12.9″ iPad Pro 2018 much faster (33 W) than its OEM charger (17 W) and the HTC U11 phone at 15 W.
Every time I plugged my Lenovo Yoga 730 laptop in to charge, the charging light went on, then off, then on again and stayed on without issues after that. This really wasn’t an issue since I didn’t have any problems charging any of my devices. Thus, I fully recommend the Anker PowerPort Atom III 60 W [PowerIQ 3.0 & GaN] Power Delivery USB C Charger as long as your devices don’t need more than 60 W.
