NEWS – Kickstarter is always a treasure trove for innovative EDC (Everyday Carry) gear, and these campaigns are no exception. From ultra-compact survival tools to portable tech solutions, these projects showcase clever designs that blend utility and portability. Whether you’re into adventure-ready gadgets or pocket EDC tools, these campaigns are sure to catch your eye and might just become your next favorite piece of gear. Let’s take a look at the five campaigns that have been on my radar this week.
P.A.K Tools – mini tool kits for your wallet
(shown above)
What is it?
PAK Tools (short for Personal Adventure Kits) are a series of ultra-compact, themed micro toolkits designed to fit in your wallet, hat, belt, or pocket. Built for survival, EDC, and adventure, they’re small in size but huge on function.
Why do I like it?
I like the PAK Tools because they are tiny 1.5 x 2 inch cards that offer a variety of functions, including fire making, fishing, sewing, hunting, first aid, and more. They are also from a well-known company, Grim Workshop, so you know you’ll get your reward after the campaign ends.
Where can I find more info?
The PAK Tools campaign ends on 05/03/25 and they already earned 25,000 more than their funding goal of $5,000. You can pre-order a PAK Tools starting at $110. After the PAK Tools campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in May 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
EchoSwitch: Titanium Magnetic Dual-Light EDC Flashlight
What is it?
The EchoSwitch is a flashlight with a 6500K Cree XPG3 LED as the main light source and a panel of LEDs on the side for close-up work and SOS signaling.
Why do I like it?
I like the EchoSwitch because it is keychain-sized, has a button for activation, a magnet for mounting, and is USB-C rechargeable. This flashlight won’t beat my Olight Warrior mini flashlight, but it offers 170 lumens in a tiny package that makes it a cool little EDC light.
Where can I find more info?
The EchoSwitch campaign ends on 04/23/25 and they have easily met their funding goal of $5,000. You can pre-order a EchoSwitch starting at $59. After the EchoSwitch campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in July 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
Majextand S folding MagSafe stand
What is it?
The Majextand S is a stainless steel folding stand for MagSafe-compatible devices.
Why do I like it?
I like the Majextand S because it’s incredibly thin (0.1″), can be adjusted at a wide variety of angles, and can attach to the back of a MagSafe-compatible device when not being used. It’s also a really tall stand (6″).
Where can I find more info?
The Majextand campaign ends on 05/16/25 and they easy surpassed their funding goal of $3,162. You can pre-order a Majextand starting at $37. After the Majextand campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in August 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
TiCal Pro – Titanium Mini Caliper multi-tool
What is it?
The TiCal Pro is a tiny caliper that can measure up to 5cm/2.0in.
Why do I like it?
I realize that not everyone will be interested in a tool like this one. I happen to have a “thing” for calipers. I have several. Not quite a collection, but I’ve been interested in and have used them ever since I did electronic CAD work drawing electrical components. In addition to measuring small objects, the TiCal Pro also has a depth gauge. The “multi-tool” aspect comes from the fact that you can use it as a wrench, nail puller, window breaker, and, of course, a bottle opener.
Where can I find more info?
The TiCal Pro campaign ends on 04/30/25 and they have already met their funding goal of $2,572. You can pre-order a TiCal Pro starting at $60. After the TiCal Pro campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in July 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
PocketCloud
What is it?
PocketCloud is a pocket-sized NAS (Network Attached Storage) device.
Why do I like it?
I like the PocketCloud because it’s a portable backup drive. But it’s more than that, because it’s battery powered, meaning that you can take it with you to back up files from your camera, phone, laptop, and more when you’re on the go.
Where can I find more info?
The PocketCloud campaign ends on 05/15/25 and they have successfully met their funding goal of $3,858. You can pre-order a PocketCloud starting at $289. After the PocketCloud campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in August 2025. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

I love these EDC Kickstarter posts, Julie! My wallet hates them, but my inner geek just goes crazy! Thanks!
Ha! I know what you mean. 🙂
these are all very cool, though the phone stand and flashlight do not seem as innovative in functionality as the others. but I honestly can’t see any of them as essential. I’m hope I’m proven wrong by the first generation of pak tool users. the packs remind me a lot of those cardboard punch-outs that come with board games
Funny. If I were to pick one campaign from that list that I want back, it would be the phone stand. I think it is innovative. I like that it can stand super tall and that you can angle in for a top-down view. I would use it for close up videos. 🙂
