REVIEW – I have a lot of trees on my property and that means that they often require trimming. Instead of using pruning shears and a ladder, I was happy to accept the VEVOR 2-in-1 Cordless Pole Saw & Mini Chainsaw when it was offered for review. Let’s go trim some limbs!
What is it?
The VEVOR 2-in-1 Cordless Pole Saw & Mini Chainsaw is a rechargeable pole saw and a handheld mini chainsaw.

Design and features
Before I received the VEVOR 2-in-1 Cordless Pole Saw & Mini Chainsaw, I didn’t realize that it could be used as a handheld chainsaw. I guess I didn’t read the whole 2-in-1 part because I was mainly interested in the pole saw feature. But yes, you can use this mini chainsaw all by itself. The chainsaw part of the device features a 5 inch blade.
The chainsaw is powered by a removable/rechargeable battery pack that slides onto the base of the chainsaw and also the base of the telescoping pole when you use it as a pole saw.
In hand, the VEVOR 2-in-1 Cordless Pole Saw & Mini Chainsaw is not too heavy and has a comfortable pistol-style grip with a trigger and unlock button on each side which makes it easy to use the saw no matter if you’re left or right handed.
The tension of the blade can be tightened with the knob on the side when it becomes loose. This will help keep the blade from wearing too quickly. I am a little disappointed that Vevor didn’t include a replacement blade like the last mini chainsaw that I reviewed.
I wasn’t disappointed however when I saw that Vevor had actually included a bottle of lubricant oil with this chainsaw! To fill the oil reservoir, you just unscrew the cap on the top of the chainsaw and squirt the oil into the well until it is filled. Then you can press the button in the cap a few times to draw in the oil.
The VEVOR 2-in-1 Cordless Pole Saw & Mini Chainsaw comes with one 20V battery that powers the chainsaw in handheld or pole forms.
To charge the battery, you have to remove the adapter from the battery.
A charge gauge is built into the battery so you can easily check the battery level before a trimming session.
Once charged, you can side the battery into the socket on the bottom of the chainsaw handle if you intend to use it as a handheld mini chainsaw, or you can slide it into the bottom of the telescoping pole.
Regardless as to which way you plan to use this chainsaw, It’s easy to insert and remove the battery.
In the image above, you can see the grip of the pole saw. Just like the grip in the chainsaw, the pole saw has a trigger grip and a safety lock on either side that has to be pressed in before the trigger will engage. Note that you don’t have to continue to hold the safety lock once the chainsaw is in use.
The chainsaw attaches to the pole and is securely locked in place.
The round button at the top of the pole allows you to adjust the angle of the saw in 7 different angles.
I can’t imagine using it in this position, but you can if you want to!
The image above shows the pole in the fully extended mode of 8 feet. Depending on your height, you can reach quite high!
I show you how it works in the video below.
See it in action
What I like
- Use as a handheld saw or pole saw
- Pole saw can extend up to 8 feet
- Easy to adjust
- The battery is easy to install and remove
What I’d change
- It would be nice to include an extra blade and/or battery
Final thoughts
The VEVOR 2-in-1 Cordless Pole Saw & Mini Chainsaw came at the right time of year to help me clean up the yard in time for Winter to set in. It’s helped me trim numerous low hanging limbs and small sapling trees that I’ve neglected cutting down in the last year or so. I found this chainsaw to be easy to use either as a handheld saw or on the pole once I got used to using a saw 8 or more feet from my grip. So far I don’t have any complaints about this outdoor tool and can easily recommend it.

Having the battery fit at the base of the pole is genius as I expect it balances the weight on the cutting end better. The price is in line with the nonpole chainsaws but buying another one with non matching batteries seems like exceeding my tool count allowance!
Betty, you have a tool count allowance? Maybe adopt a policy where you have to get rid of an old unused tool for every new one you buy 😉
I already have that policy for musical instruments!
Excellent saw. I used mine without the pole for several weeks.
Lots of cuts on a single battery charge.
If the chain grabs it can loosen. When you release the clamp knob half turn or more it allows a spring to retension the chain. There’s no separate chain tightening knob as there is in typical chainsaw.
Provided bar and chain oil is low viscosity. When you replace with standard bar and chain oil be careful. Unless it’s warm, won’t go into the tank very fast.
One negative, I assumed the 20 volt battery would interchange with Vevor angle grinder I bought earlier this year. Not! But it is easy on the battery charge. I have 4 A-H model.
