REVIEW – I don’t know about you, but I use an air fryer at least 3 times a week to heat up leftovers and fix fresh dishes. I enjoy the ease of one-dish cooking, but when I have leftovers, I have to store them in a separate container. The Kismile 5-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer solves that issue and potentially a couple more. But does it introduce problems too? Let’s find out

Design and features
When they say that the Kismile 5-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer is compact, they aren’t kidding. Although it includes two sizes of glass containers, they are both pretty small. You aren’t going to cook a full-sized chicken in the larger container unless it’s an extremely small bird. Two Walmart Great Value frozen burgers won’t fit side-by-side in the larger container either… But if you’re going to cook for yourself or just two people, you can make it work.
You can only use one container at a time, but you can stack them for storage if you’re not using them to store leftovers in your fridge.
Both containers feature thick glass with a plastic base that has non-slip feet and handles on the sides.
Non-stick fry plates are also included, which you place inside the glass containers.
And each container has its own snap on lid.
At the bottom of each container is a plug that you can use to drain water that might collect in the plastic base after washing by hand or in the dishwasher.
Then there’s the air fryer heating element itself which reminds me of the little guys from the Among Us game. Kismile calls it the heating pod and it has a white on black touch display up top with a silicone loop that you can use to lift it off the glass container.
It also has feet to keep the heating pod off your countertop, which will become important in a sec.
So you know how most air fryers have a drawer or a hinged lid that you can open like the Ninja Foodi that I’ve been using for years? Well, the Kismile air fryer’s heating pod isn’t attached to the glass container. It just sits on top of it while you’re cooking/frying your food. That means that when you want to flip foods halfway through the cooking cycle, you’ll have to lift off the heating element (using that loop or the finger grips on the side) and then either hang on to it with one hand while you use tongs to flip your food, or you’ll need to set it on your countertop.
That also means you’ll need a bit more clear space than with a regular air fryer with a drawer or hinged lid. I found this to be a bit annoying and inconvenient. But before I complain too much, let’s fry something.
My first test was frying up some Real Good brand chicken nuggets. I poured the remainder of a bag of frozen nuggets into the larger 4.7qt container. This is just one serving, so you can see how small the glass container is.
I then placed the heating pod on top and plugged it in. The user interface is about as simple as it can get. There’s a power button on the right, a mode button on the left, a timer in the center with +/- buttons on the sides so you can adjust the time. The mode button allows you to cycle between the following modes:
- ROAST (355°F/15min) for juicy meats,
- REROAST (340°F) for extra crispness,
- DEEP ROAST for frozen snacks,
- BROIL (365°F) for seared steaks
- KEEP WARM
You’ll notice that there’s no custom mode where you can adjust the temperature to anything higher than 365°F or lower than 355°F. Yeah, bummer to that.
The user manual instructs you to use the DEEP ROAST mode for frozen foods, so that is what I did. I decided not to flip the food, just see if it would still cook all the way through.
I loved being able to view the food through the glass container while it was cooking. Instead of a small window, I could look at the food from all sides.
I was also surprised by how quiet the Kismile air fryer is while it’s running. I was worried that it wasn’t working because it’s so quiet compared to the Ninja Foodi.
After 15 minutes, I removed the heating pod and was greeted with perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside chicken nuggets. Yay!
I tested the Kismile Glass Air Fryer several times with other foods like frozen biscuits, smoked sausage, tator tots, reheated chicken breasts, and hard-boiled eggs. Everything turned out great.
Final thoughts
After using the Kismile 5‑in‑1 Portable Glass Air Fryer for a few weeks, I found it to be both clever and convenient—especially if you often cook small meals or heat single portions. The clear glass bowls make it easy to monitor your food, and the fact that you can pop them straight into the fridge afterward is a big plus. It’s also nice that everything except the heating pod is dishwasher safe.
That said, the detachable heating pod design takes a little getting used to. You’ll need extra counter space to set it down when flipping food, and the temperature range is limited compared to more traditional air fryers. At a regular price of $179.99, it’s not the cheapest option, but you’re paying for its unique dual‑purpose storage and cooking setup, which may justify the price if space-saving and visibility matter to you.
If your cooking needs are mostly for one or two people and you like minimalist, see‑through appliances, the Kismile air fryer will likely feel like a smart addition to your kitchen. But if you regularly cook family-size meals or want more control over temperature, you might want to stick with a standard model.
What I like about the Kismile 5-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer review
- 360 degree view of food while it’s cooking
- Ability to use glass containers to store leftovers in the refrigerator
- Two sizes of frying containers
- Quiet
What needs to be improved?
- It would be great if there were some way to prop the lid on the side during cooking so you wouldn’t need more counter space for it
- Higher temp option would be great
