What do you all think of our brand new logo and other subtle site changes? Graphic artist and long time reader Daniel McNutt came up with the logo design when he answered my call for help last month. He did an excellent job of combining elements from past designs and then modernized them into one great new logo. I for one, love it! Thank you Daniel! 😀

Special thanks also go to Rob for figuring out the CSS changes. I was pulling my hair out all weekend trying to implement various things, and once I gave up, he was able to fix the issues within a few minutes. Must be nice to be such a genius! Thank you Rob! 😀

*fine print* I know that the site doesn’t look as good through Internet Explorer version 6 and older. My advice to those of you still using older versions is to upgrade. Or better yet, get Firefox!

  2. I love it. it’s sort’a like the old logo that I loved It looks good through IE8 I don’t know as for firefox as i’m not at home right now

  3. Julie,

I think it looks very nice…it’s simplistic yet vibrant with color all at the same time…I love what you’ve done with the place!!!

As Rob O. says, “Very Snappy!!!”

  4. Spiffy! Good job Daniel, and brave move Julie – it can be tough to move away from the old tried & true some times but it can help traffic to see a more “modern” look too.

  5. Looks excellent Julie, fresh and vibrant! Good stuff!

Hats off to Daniel for an excellent job on the design! 🙂

  6. I have been coming here since this site started WAY back in the dawn of time. I have to say that this is my favorite logo thus far. Wisely chosen, and brilliantly designed. Simple, yet to the point.

  7. Julie, I like the new look of the site (glad it’s not “too new” and stays familiar), but my personal gripe with websites applies now: The logo isn’t a hyperlink to the homepage. 😐

  8. I just noticed, my favicon (in Firefox) is the old logo, is there a new one I can force it to load? Or if Reset it, will a pretty new one take its place?

  9. @FubarGuy – We do have a new favicon to match the new logo, but it seems Firefox doesn’t update it everywhere automatically. You may have to clear your cache, and if you have bookmarks to the site you might have to delete and replace them.

  10. @ Julie

Julie, what about make a thumbnail or a gallery of all the logos you received? Thank you very much!

    1. @Phil I only had 2 other people send me a couple of ideas before I went with Dan to do the work. Dan and I were on the exact same wave length as to what I envisioned, so it was a no-brainer to go with him. He’s also a professional graphic designer. 🙂
