If you read the thread that I posted a few days ago about non-gadget hobbies, you might remember that I mentioned wanting to buy a ukulele. Well, I ordered one over the weekend from an eBay shop called Ukulele4U and it arrived today. It’s a beauty and I thought I would share some pics with

Earlier this year, Audioengine was
kind enough to send me a pair of their wonderful
A5
speakers to review. These speakers have turned out to be a favorite of mine
and still occupy space on my desk at Gadgeteer headquarters. Now Audioengine
have created another set of speakers for people that don’t want to devote as
much desktop space and money in order to own a great sounding pair of speakers.
The A2’s work great with both PCs, Macs and other audio devices. Let’s take a
closer look.

Ever since I posted my Chumby review last week, I’ve been thinking about features that I’d include in an ultimate alarm clock if I could have everything that I wanted. I had actually goofed around with an idea of creating a clock a year or two ago, but didn’t get very far. My whole idea

There really hasn’t been much innovation in the modern wallet / billfold since its invention in the 1950’s. While wallets similar to what we know today have been in existence since the 17th century, it wasn’t until 50 years or so ago, that wallets with card slots were invented to accommodate a new form of currency called the credit card. These days we tend to carry around too many of these plastic cards, which causes our wallets to become way too thick for comfort. The folks at ALL-ETT have redesigned the ordinary billfold to be super thin, but with the same capacity for credit cards as the bum denting version you have in your pocket right now.

The HTC TyTn II is the successor to the powerful and popular TyTn Windows Mobile PDA phone (which Julie and I reviewed here last year). While it retains the original’s features, including 3G mobile broadband, WiFi, and a sliding keyboard, it adds new features such as a tiltable display and internal GPS. A customized version of it, called the “Tilt”, has recently been released in the USA by AT&T. Is the TyTn II a worthy successor to the original TyTn? Read on to find out.

My never ending quest to find the world’s coolest and most feature loaded clock recently led me to the chumby. What the heck is a chumby you ask? It’s a small touch screen device that functions as a clock and also displays information from the web such as news, stocks, photos and more by connecting to the internet via WiFi. At the time of this writing, the chumby is not yet selling to the public. I was lucky enough to get on a list to buy one of the first 50 units that were available. That means that it is possible that some features and hardware details may change in the production version of this product that should be available before the end of the year. With that said, let’s take a look at this cool little device.

I would guess that most of you reading the-gadgeteer are just as gadget obsessed as I am. I love gadgets and running this site, but I’ve come to realize that eating, breathing and sleeping gadgets is not always a good thing. Yes, admitting you have a problem is the first step… ;o) Sometimes a person

Although I’ve never been camping in my life, I seem to have an unnatural fetish for outdoor gear like pocket knives, compasses and flashlights. I enjoy going into stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods and spending time looking at all their gear. If you prefer online browsing, a store that specializes in knives and flashlights is Discount LED Lights and Knives. In the past, they have sent me several LED flashlights to review and the most recent product that I’ve had the opportunity to try out is the Coast LED Lenser TT7105 LED Lantern. While I didn’t get a chance to test this product on an actual camping trip, I did test it a couple of times during my version of a ‘roughing it’ activity… power failures at home ;o)

It was a good mail day for me today. Three different review samples showed up. Yay! I have to say though that the most exciting sample was a shiny Red Palm Centro from Sprint. I’ve only had a couple of hours to play around with it, but the Centro is making me consider that maybe

Many of the new Palm software titles over the last couple of years have been targeted for the medical field. You would almost think that every doctor, nurse, technician, and other health-care provider is issued a free Palm upon graduation (which might be a way to boost the sagging visibility of my favorite electronic device!) OK, I was a certified EMT in my state back some 20 years ago and actively teach various first-aid and CPR courses. Why not take some of these texts for a test drive?

Have you guys seen some of the new iPhone commercials that they just started showing on TV? I saw 3 of them tonight during Prison Break on Fox. You know, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a big fan of Apple products. Heck, I own 4 of their computers (24″ iMac, 20″ iMac

A new marketing trend is to promote organic, natural, or green-friendly products. I don’t know if you have noticed, but these items can be pricey. I am not a slave to overpriced trends, but I do believe in making eco-friendly decisions that are within my budget. If there is a product that will prevent my kids’ exposure to chemicals, then I am willing to use it. Nellie’s Laundry Products are touted as providing natural solutions to consumers and saving time & money. When I saw these dog-looking-chew-toys being promoted, I wanted to see if they would work. Julie asked for a sample and Nellie’s quickly sent two sets to The Gadgeteer Team.
I posted a garage sale several weeks ago that helped me clean a lot of unused items out of Gadgeteer HQ. Once I packed up and shipped all those items away to their new owners, I uncovered a few more things that I thought I’d go ahead and put up for sale too. I’m in
