Call me the computer mouse queen β I love trying out new mice for all of my devices. Itβs hard for me to go without one when carrying my laptop around. Β Logitech just released the MX Anywhere 2, a wireless mouse that enables you to connect to Windows and Mac via a wireless USBΒ receiver or Bluetooth. Letβs take a look at how it performed.Note: Images can be clicked on to view a larger size.
The Logitech MX Anywhere 2 mouse comes with a pico unifying receiver, a Micro USB cable and booklet documentation. Β The mouse dimensions areΒ 2.4 x 3.9 x 1.4 in, weighing in at 3.7 oz, and the receiver (0.6 x 0.6 x 0.3 inches in size). The mouse works with Windows 7, 8, 10 or Mac OS X 10.8 and later. Β You can connect it to your computer or Windows tablet using Bluetooth or the pico unifying receiver. Β
The nice thing about this mouse is that it has a built inΒ rechargeable Li-Po (500 mAh) battery. After I gave it a full charge, I havenβt had to re-charge it yet after using it for about a month!
I like the geometric design of the mouse as seen on the side grip. Β The mouse is made of smooth plastic and isΒ black and brass-ish color.
Iβm a female with average hands (not too petite or thin) and I liked the size of mouse. Β Iβm very particular with mouse sizesΒ since there are a lot of mice made for bigger hands (think gaming mice). Β The dimensions listed above hopefully help with deciding if this is right for you.
On the bottom of the mouse is a small easy switch button that gives you up to three devices to connect the mouse to. Β This was useful when I wanted to switch from my Macbook Pro to my Mac Mini but still use the same mouse. Β Yay for less desk clutter!
On my Macbook Pro I set it up via Bluetooth with ease.
I downloaded the Logitech Options software which gives you the ability to give you change almost anything on the mouse, including scroll button, gesture controls, and the side arrow buttons.
I also tested the mouse using the pico unifying receiver since I already use a wireless Logitech keyboard that Iβve had for years. I found this set up a bit more convenient in my case since I can just leave the receiver plugged in and connect both the mouse and keyboard to my Mac.
Something to note: At my house I didnβt have trouble using it via Bluetooth connection, but when I traveled to a friends house, I had alot of trouble connecting with Bluetooth. I think it might have to do with their wireless signal and this mouseβs signal having a conflict. I found it a bit strange, so next time just used the pico receiver.
The Logitech MX Anywhere 2 is by far the best mouse Iβve used by Logitech. Β I finally found a Logitech mouse that I like on Mac OS X β I used to find the tracking a bit off. Now I find the tracking perfect and the quality is top notch. Β Itβs the perfect size for travel and conveniently can connect to multiple devices simultaneously.

The only thing that blocks me to buy this mouse is the lack of middle button in the wheel. You have to program it in a non standard button.
Microsoft apparently does not make mouses with navigation buttons (back and forward), so it lets me with Logitech or A4tech mouses, but none of the I find the perfect mouse. There always something to give up.
Mac OS 10.9.5: The mouse doesn’t reconnect once connected to bluetooth after my mac is woken up after sleep for >15 minutes. It has to be re-paired.
Not impressed.
