REVIEW – I’m not a girly girl, and I don’t call my gear bag a purse because…ick. 🙂 I prefer a simple crossbody style bag that isn’t too flashy, has enough pockets, slots, and ways to organize my EDC without being too bulky. Allett, known for their super thin wallets, has a new collection of sling bags, and I was fortunate enough to receive two for review right before heading to Florida for vacation. Let’s find out how they performed while in the Sunshine State.

What is it?
The Daily Crossbody and Mini Sling are bags from Allett’s new sling bag collection.
Design and features
Allett is offering four bags in its new daily sling bag collection. They sent me a Mini Sling bag (left) and a Daily Crossbody bag (right).
Allett Daily Crossbody Bag
The Daily Crossbody is a 4 Liter bag that has an exterior that is made of 100% recycled 420D high-density Oxford water repellent nylon and is available in four colors, including the Blue Haze that you see here.
The bag has a soft padded back for comfort and an attached webbed nylon adjustable strap.
The front zippered pocket is roomy enough to hold your favorite smartphone and has a soft lining to protect screens and sunglasses.
Dual zipper pulls open into the main compartment that has a gold lining for easy visibility of your items, even when they are the bottom of the bag.
The interior of the Daily Crossbody bag has a divider that splits the bag into two main sections. One section has an panel of three stretchy open topped slots that are perfect for rolled cables, earbuds, and other small EDC items.
A keyring is attached to the bag so you’ll always know where to find your keys.
There’s also a small slot for Allett’s Micro Pen.
The Micro Pen is a convenient D1 sized ball point pen that takes up also no space at all.
I think you’re supposed to stow the whole pen in the little slot, but I just clip the pocket clip into the slot to make it even easier to grab it when needed.
Another zippered pocket is on the opposite side of the bag that you can use to secure your wallet, a small notebook, etc.
Here I am modeling the Allett Daily Crossbody bag while standing on the beach where we stayed at Ocean’s Reach on Sanibel Island. For reference, I am 5’6″ tall and weigh in at 130 lbs.
This bag isn’t huge, but it’s not tiny either. It’s just right for people who like to carry a selection of EDC. It was bigger than what I needed, so I gave it to Jeanne (my better half), who tends to stuff her bags with all manner of things. She used this bag the whole week we were in Florida and she’s continued to use it now that we’re back home. Her only complaints were that the slots are too deep in the bag to make it convenient to retrieve items like credit cards, and that the strap was always twisted.
Allett Daily Mini Sling bag
This is the bag that I used while on vacation. It has about half the capacity of the Daily Crossbody at 2.3 liters. Like the other bag, this one is also made from recycled 420D HD Oxford nylon and is also available in the same colors. I went with Lunar Ash.
The back of the bag is padded for comfort and the Mini Sling features an adjustable webbed strap that has a magnetic buckle.
I really like this type of strap configuration. It’s similar to the Bellroy sling that I’ve been using. I find it easier to swing the back in place and snap the buckle closed without dealing with a twisted strap like Jeanne complained about with the Crossbody bag.
The Mini Sling has a soft lined zippered pocket on the front side.
I was able to fit my iPhone 16 Pro Max inside (horizontally) and zip it closed, but just barely. You can also use this pocket for sunglasses.
The interior of the Allett Mini Sling is a miniature version of the Daily Crossbody bag with just a couple differences. It has a main divider with two stretchy open-topped slots (instead of 3), a keyclip and a Micro Pen slot. But instead of a zippered pocket on the back wall, it a thinner divider.
Although the Allett Daily Mini Sling is a small bag, it’s absolutely perfect for me because I don’t like to carry a lot of stuff. It handled my iPhone, lip balm, wallet (AKeeni XSTO), USB cable, Kleenex, Field Notes notebook, Allette Micro Pen, Wint-O-Green mints, lens cloth, a small vial of Ibuprofen, with room to spare!
I have zero complaints about this little EDC gear bag and I am still using it even after returning home. It’s the bag I grab when I am leaving the house for errands now.
Final thoughts
The Allett sling bags are well-made bags that offer great looks with a nice selection of pockets and slots. They are just right for travel, and every day. I think they’ll become a quick favorite of bag aficionados.

I’ve reached a point when I was tired of carrying everything in my pockets and then struggling to get something out while paying for drive-thru or for parking. So I picked up this bag from Timbuk2
https://www.timbuk2.com/collections/sling-bags/products/1070-agent-crossbody-bag
It is very small and thin but with three zipper compartments plus a back pocket it holds much more than I EDC. It is so small I can wear it while driving.
Hey Norm, I like the bag, I just wish they had more colors other than 99.9% of all men’s fave colors black and less black. 🙂
