REVIEW – There are many oversized bean bags available in the market that promise a unique comfort experience. I had my fair share of bean bags growing up in the ’70s and ’80s. So, I was intrigued to try out the new breed. Recently, I got my hands on the Moon Pod Antigravity Bean Bag and two of its accessories, the Crescent and the Lunar Lift.
What is it?
The Moon Pod is not just another bean bag; it’s an entirely new way of relaxing. It’s filled with responsive high-density beads that mimic the sensation of float therapy. The unique design of the Moon Pod ensures maximum comfort and relaxation, no matter your body shape. The Crescent is a zero-gravity backrest that can be used with the Moon Pod. At the same time, the Lunar Lift is a footrest that elevates the overall relaxation experience of the Moon Pod. The Crescent and Lunar Lift use the same high-density beads as the Moon Pod to provide the same level of comfort and relaxation.

Design and features
I received the Moon Pod, Crescent, and Lunar Lift in separate boxes, each with an inner shell and a cover. The inner shells are filled with a custom-density EPS bead designed to last longer than traditional bean bags. The outer shells are made of a proprietary blend of fabric that can be machine-washed in cold water. The inner and outer shells are soft and stretchy, providing comfortable support for your body shape and movement.
The Mood Pod is sleek and weighs only 12 lbs, occupying just four square feet, making it easy to move around and store anywhere.
Setup
To set up the Moon Pod, you must place the inner shell inside its cover. The cover has a zipper closure. It can be tricky to put the inner shell inside the cover. However, with a bit of patience, it becomes easy. There is also a zipper on the inner shell that allows you to remove or add beads. This zipper does not have a pull tab, but you can use a paper clip to access it.
Performance and comfort
I would like to share my thoughts about using the Moon Pod alone since the accessories must be purchased separately. Firstly, the Moon Pod is incredibly comfortable and is not your typical bean bag. In fact, calling it a bean bag would be an understatement. It’s one of those products you must try to truly understand its full effect. Sitting in the Moon Pod is a unique experience. Unlike a typical chair or couch, it conforms to and supports your body, allowing you to float on the beads instead of sinking into them. Additionally, it’s instantly comfortable and requires no break-in period.
Aside from its incredible comfort, I love the Moon Pod’s versatility. You can sit, recline, or lay on it. No matter how you choose to use the Moon Pod, one thing is sure: you will be comfortable.
Crescent and Lunar Lift
As I said, the Moon Pod by itself is amazingly comfortable. But, adding the Crescent and Lunar Lift made it the most comfortable piece of furniture in my home. Using both accessories with the Moon Pod gives you that true zero-gravity feel. Your whole body is elevated, and you feel like you’re floating.
The Crescent and Lunar Lift can also be used independently anywhere in your home. For example, I use the Crescent when watching TV in bed, giving me extra back support.
The experience of using all these products together is fantastic. I use the Moon Pod and its accessories in various ways every day, such as gaming and watching TV. In fact, I am sitting on it while writing this review. However, my favorite use of it is taking power naps. It’s also a great way to recover after a workout at the gym. The comfort it provides is so incredible that I can’t wait to get home and use it. Additionally, if you suffer from neck and back pain like me, it works wonders on that as well.
This is not to say that the Moon Pod alone isn’t enough. Still, if you can afford it, I recommend getting the Crescent and Lunar Lift for the complete user experience.
Another thing I like about the Moon Pod and its accessories is the ability to purchase extra covers. It’s perfect if you want to change up colors or have a spare cover between washes. A water-resistant outdoor cover will allow you to take your Mood Pod to the beach or lounge by the pool.
What I like
- Extremely comfortable
- Removable and washable cover
- Versatile
- Lightweight and easy to move from room to room
What I’d change
- It may be pricey for some, especially if you add both accessories.
Final thoughts
The Moon Pod is an excellent product that provides the ultimate relaxation experience. Its innovative design, including the Crescent and Lunar Lift, takes relaxation to a new level. Congratulations, Moon Pod, you have a new fan!
