Design and features

Your quest for organization requires some assembly. All the assembly, in fact. The Mythinglogic Garden Tool Organizer comes with about 2 dozen parts that need to be put together.

I found that the instructions required a little patience to work with. Here’s a shot of the one-page instruction sheet, which uses illustrations to get you through.

Here’s a closeup of the assembly of the lower part of the unit as an example. You kind of have to parse out where things get connected and that pieces are pointing in the right direction. Fortunately, the parts tend to be the same, but I did find myself having to stop and reassess my choices a couple of times to ensure that I was doing it right. A few extra illustrations of the in-between steps would have been helpful.

Once I got oriented, assembly of the My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer went smoothly. I didn’t see any issues with misaligned drill holes or parts, and everything came together without a mishap. I clocked in at 30 minutes to full assembly, taking my time as I went.

You can do all the assembly with a Phillips head screwdriver and the enclosed wrench to attach the wheels to the legs. Note that two of the castors come with brakes, so you want those on the front legs. I didn’t catch that in the instructions at first.

And here’s the My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer fully assembled! The whole build is made from coated steel, which actually feels more substantial than it looks when you’re up close.

The cart is designed to support your long tools in the rear of the cart. Those looped guides will handle 9 different tools with some spacing between them.

The front of the My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer sports a top storage shelf, with a larger basket-like lower storage shelf.

The left side of the unit incorporates a set of 4 hooks and a wire loop at the top to accommodate a variety of tools.

The right hand side of the unit sports a set of rubber coated prongs in a rack that vertically stores smaller tools.

Four 3 inch wheels are found on the base, allowing for smooth travel around your workspace. Two of the wheels also have brakes to keep the cart from accidentally taking a trip without your approval.

Performance

The My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer was the cornerstone of my garage spring cleaning. Here’s the before shot of my mess. I’ll call your attention to the left hand side of the shot where my small garden tools are hung on the wall and my big tools are in a big ol’ plastic organizer in the corner…

Now look at us! Mythinglogic GardenToolOrganizer 13

Here’s a closeup for a better look. The My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer has soaked up the bulk of my outdoor weapons, large and small, all in one cart.

That rear rack stores a surprising amount of tall tools. The guide design helps to keep the rakes, shovels, and whatnot from crashing into each other. I leveraged the spaces in between to house about a dozen items in there of various sizes, including a long-handled sledgehammer and my weed whacker attachment.

The assortment of hooks, racks and shelves gives you versatile options for storage. I have all my small tools hung off the rack, including hose nozzles and garden tools.

Mythinglogic GardenToolOrganizer 19

The top shelf has a front rail to hang stuff & to keep things from sliding off the front, but there are no side or rear rails to keep things from shifting around. I have some of my assorted tools here, but this may be a good spot for a toolbox.

Mythinglogic GardenToolOrganizer 21

The lower basket has rails and solid grid walls on all four sides. All sorts of loose items will go in here, as long as they are not so small that they slip through the grids. I have a collapsable leaf bucket stashed in there among the other things.

The hooks and loops on the left side of the organizer give you more options for hanging odd-shaped stuff. I’m pretty impressed with the variety of attachment points. I could sling a leaf blower off this side, a small hose, extension cords, etc. You can also move those hooks around. The second photo below shows a closeup of how they slide onto the frame.

The My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer holds twice as much as my old plastic organizer in a smaller footprint. I also like the open design, which doesn’t have spaces for dirt/leaves/grass to collect (or places for mice to hide).

Mythinglogic GardenToolOrganizer 14

And we have wheels!  I still have a bunch of stuff back in my tool area. Check out how that compact cart can be slid out of that tight corner when I need it!

Mythinglogic GardenToolOrganizer 17

My Thing Logic does advertise that you can roll this fellow across the lawn, but I don’t think the 3″ wheels are quite deep enough for that (at least not with my soft soil and long grass). It will scoot around my driveway easily enough though. And I can parallel park it back in it’s corner just as smoothly as I brought it out. I’ve found that it’s very stable considering the variety of gear I have hanging off of it as I wheel it around.

What I like

  • Solid build
  • Variety of options allow for all sorts of tools
  • Compact footprint
  • Sturdy, functional wheels

What I’d change

  • Bigger wheels would better accommodate journeys across the lawn
  • The top shelf would be more usable with side & rear rails to keep things from sliding about

Final thoughts

The My Thing Logic Garden Tool Organizer has been a massive upgrade from my old plastic tool rack. The compact footprint and multilevel design hold more stuff than I expected, freeing up space in my garage and keeping my gear organized. The sturdy build feels both durable and stable. I also love that I can wheel it around without fear of it tipping over, It’s a good one. Garage Spring Cleaning Acheivement unlocked!!
