The next time you need extra seating for guests, you can pull a book off your bookcase and voila, instant stool. No, I’m not delusional. It’s called Bookniture, which is a clever name for these “books” that are made of kraft paper that opens up to create a weight-bearing stool that you can sit on. They can also be used as a foot rest, or even a bench or shelf if you use two of them. These would be great for minimalists who don’t have room to store a lot of extra furniture but still want the ability to add more without needing a lot of storage. Bookniture was a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign last year and now they are available in four colors for $86 each or in bundles of two for $149. For more info visit Bookniture.com.

Did they send you a sample?
No they have not.
Probably for the best, you don’t want to receive a stool sample…
Ha! Good one 😉
Interesting idea but too many negatives. On the source site, someone mentions that the round felt top is a separate item – too large to fit within the book itself. Add to this the price and that it’s made of paper (recently mopped floor, spilled drinks, etc) and it’s an easy pass right now.
Still… a nice (version 1.0?) hack.
I bet that it wouldn’t be hard to make something like this yourself. You could even fold the felted top and put it in the book… Maybe I’ll try it!
