Ok, it’s not really a can opener, but it looks like one. Sorta. Kinda. The Zipit is a motorized plastic clamshell package opener from ThinkGeek. It’s an interesting concept, but I think I still prefer the manual Zibra Open It shears. These might be good for people with poor hand strength though.

Three guesses on how this product is packaged. Quite the paradox eh?
@Mr.Obvious Hahaha! You’re probably right 😉
that’s quite a big complicated thing for a task that demands nothing else than a simple pair of good cissors :p
personally i carry my swiss army knifr with me, it has tiny tiny tiny cissors that do the job good enough ; i gues even a nailcutter would be fine most of the time, instead of a motorized thing 😀
who needs that ? how many boxes do you have to open each minute to feel the need for this thing? 😀
in my experience, going at it with scissors just as often asks for trouble, as one generate long pointy plastic straws that loves to cut or poke your hand as you continue cutting.
just observe on the last image where the hand is in reference to the cutting blade and the plastic straw being generated, and then place the hand in-line with said cutting blade…
Ahhh! A Uni-Tasker! Get thee out!
You’ll have to find a place to store it since a standard kitchen ‘utility’ drawer will never close with this behemoth in it. And I’m assuming it takes batteries…BAH! It might come in handy one day a year…Christmas morning, but in the mean time it will always be ‘in the way’.
You can thank shoplifters for the advent of this kind of packaging armor.
What ever happened to the days when Real Men carried knives? And the women ask the men around for help?
