If cost is no object for a great-tasting pizza, you might try your hand at making your own in this wood-fired pizza oven.  You’ll need a safe outdoor area to set up this Italian-made oven.  According to the product information, the Rapid Heating Wood Burning Pizza Oven from Hammacher Schlemmer “has an electrogalvanized powder-coated steel roof that reduces heat loss, stainless-steel cooking chamber, cart, chimney, and door, and all parts are assembled with solid-state welding, providing superior strength and durability for years of reliable use.  Unlike typical wood burning ovens that require hours of preheating, this superior oven’s entire cooking chamber is insulated with basalt, a dense, volcanic rock that retains 10X more heat than the clay or brick used in traditional ovens.”  Its shape creates natural convection, and its 800-degree cooking temperature means you can cook Neapolitan-style pizza in three minutes.  The oven has room for the firewood plus two pizzas or a 5-lb roast.  The pizza oven is $2700.

    $2700? or

    540: Little Caesars pepperoni pizza’s
    270: Me & Ed’s 3 toppings (yum)
168: Round table King Arthur Supreme.
    207: Papa Johns 2 toppings.
    5100: Winco Generic cheese pizza

I’m fairly certain if you add my oven/stove/bbq together I paid less than $2700. although I hate my stove.. Stupid stove.

@Andrew Baker Well, I did warn that cost would have to be no object. Or I guess you could start your own pizza delivery service to make it pay for itself sooner. ;)

If I buy $20 pizza which are sort of expensive hereabouts, $2700 is 135 pizzas plus the cost of the ingredients. If you assume that the ingredient cost of a pizza is say $5. This means that the cost of the DIY increases to $3375.

I do not think that I have spent $3375 for pizza over my entire lifetime,

Makes absolutely no sense to me, But then again, you knew that when you posted it.

I forgot to add that delivery costs $150 and you need to add the cost of the fuel to run the thing.
