Following up on our news item of the leaked specs of the new Lenovo Windows 8 Thinkpad Tablet 2, here’s a Lenovo Sneak Peek. Not a lot of new information in the video however it’s a good visual overview. One thing to note is you won’t be able to use the mini-HDMI when the unit’s docked in the keyboard. :(

Nice video! I will be interested in seeing how Lenovo with Win8 is accepted in the real world against Apple and Android.
Unlike Android (until the Nexus 7), Microsoft and Apple, with a few exceptions, have been very consistent in their Operating Systems integrating well with the devices they run on. Android is a hit and miss with what devices will upgrade to what version of Android, what programs (Apps) will run on such and such or this or that device; just a hodgepodge of mismatched junk I feel. No wonder Google had to come out with their own device.

Microsoft has created the Surface Tablet to show how it “should be done” after a raft of poor implementations of Windows 7 tablets from third party manufacturers , so as you say it made some sense for Google to do the same with the Nexus 7.

Here’s an interesting Microsoft Blog article which gives an nice insight into Windows 8 tablets both Pro and RT, and even outlines their strategic hardware partners for intial launch. A couple of missing vendors, HP and Toshiba.
