As we strive for a single device to do it all, we need a case to hold it and do everything else.  This iPhone 4S Stowaway Credit Card Hard Shell Case with Silicone Core from Incipio holds your iPhone 4S in the front and your driver’s license, cards, and some cash in a back compartment with a door that snaps securely.  If you don’t want to carry valuables in that compartment, the door can be used as a horizontal stand.  The Stowaway is made of impact-resistant polycarbonate for strength with a shock-absorbing silicone core.  The case covers the back and sides of the phone and wraps around to cover the bezel.  All controls and ports are accessible, even the back camera.  It comes with an Incipio Vanity Kit – screen protector and applicator card and a microfiber cloth.  It’s compatible with the iPhone 4S from AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.  The iPhone 4S Stowaway Credit Card Hard Shell Case with Silicone Core will sell for $39.99 and should be available soon.  You can sign up at the case information page to be notified when it’s available.

This looks cool. Looks like it may add a lot of bulk though. I’d enjoy a review, when it’s available.

Is there any case like this for the IPhone 4?

Something that is either leather or a hard case that doesn’t add to much thickness?

I use a maxpedition phone holster and the with and thickness can be a bit bigger because it stretches.

The iPhone 4 and 4S are the same body. When this comes out it will work for the 4.

Seems like there’s a small difference in button layout, namely the mute button that is positioned slightly different on the 4S. Engadget has a review covering this issue too, among other things. It’s noticeable on my Otterbox Defender, as I have the 4S and said button is not properly centered (I don’t actually care, but there are finicky people out there.)
However I ended up buying a leather wallet for the 4S, because this is “out of stock” or whatever. Oh well. Not my loss.
