For those of you that don’t wear glasses for all your vision needs, but do require glasses for reading, TechLoops can keep those glasses close at hand while not making you look like a granny or librarian. They are all handmade with various beads that give them a high-tech or jewelry appearance. They are priced at $27 each and there 15 different styles to choose from.

Not sure your lead sentence will be attractive to me – I am a librarian and know a lot of good-looking librarians. Don’t be surprised if this appears in American Libraries magazine in the section on how librarians are viewed by those who use stereotypes to sell products. And yes I have a sense of humor!

@Mary Lou I’m sorry about the librarian comment. It was only meant as a joke. I hope granny’s don’t get mad at me too… ;)

There is a line of similar eyeglass holders from a company named La Loupe, made of leather, plastic, metal and jewelry-like stones and chains. They vary greatly in price. I have one made of leather with a hook and loop in silver. I use it every day for my reading and sunglasses. I much prefer it to those straps that hook onto the ends of eyeglass temples.

I misspelled the name of the company, sorry, it’s La Loop.

@Philippe Thanks for letting us know there’s another option too!
