Emerald Chronometer App for iPhone

Emerald Sequoia LLC makes some wonderful clock apps for iPhone and iPad.  Earlier, I told you about the Emerald Observatory app for iPad.  Today it’s the Chronometer app for iPhone/iPod touch.  The Chronometer app is an alarm clock/stopwatch/interval timer with date/day/month/year information.  What sets this app apart from other similar apps is the appearance:  all these functions are displayed on the faces of “high-end mechanical watches”, many of them with complex complications.  There are a total of 15 different watches, many of which also have a back dial, for a total of 26 faces.  Some of these faces also have a night-viewing version.  The complications include various astronomical functions similar to the ones in the Observatory app for iPad.  It requires iOS 3.0 or later.  If you have iOS 4, you’ll receive notifications even when the app is not running.  The Chronometer app is $4.99.  (All three views of the Geneva face is shown: (left-right) front face, night view of front face, back face.)

If you’re a watch guy, you’ll love Emerald Chronometer.

It’s beautifully implemented, and they’re constantly improving it. I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth.
