REVIEW – Here we go, folks!! Cycrown came through and finally sent me the CycHunter  ebike, and I am very excited to assemble it and take it for a spin. If you can recall, I recently tested the Cycrown Dremax and Roma ebikes and wrote a comparison review. I love those bikes, but the entire Cyccrown journey was supposed to begin with the CycHunter. So, since I believe in better late than never, here we go!!

Assembly, Installation, Setup

Much like the other Cycrown eBikes I have reviewed, the Cycrown Cyc Hunter eBike arrives mostly assembled and is easy to complete by finishing the assembly. Here are some photos and a time-lapse video of my assembly process:

Performance

Cycrown CycHunter 9
Cycrown CycHunter 10
Cycrown CycHunter 12
Cycrown CycHunter 21The Cycrown Cyc Hunter is a moped-style e-bike class 3 e-bike that delivers a good value with its capability of long range and everyday usability. Its combination of dual-battery capacity, full suspension, and fat tires makes it versatile for urban commuting and off-road use.

The Cyc Hunter is powered by a 48 V 500 W rear hub motor that peaks around 1000 W, at can reach speeds up to 28 mph in higher assist levels. Its dual 48 V 13 Ah batteries (26 Ah total) can provide over 100 miles of range in lower assist levels.

The bike features full suspension and 20 x 4.0 all-terrain fat tires, which deliver a smooth and comfortable ride on city streets, gravel paths, and uneven surfaces. A large, padded seat, the BMX-style handlebars, and the upright, relaxed riding position contribute to a nice riding experience.

The Cyc Hunter uses mechanical disc brakes, which provide adequate stopping power but are not a favorite of mine. Hydraulic brakes would have been a better choice, especially when considering the weight of the bike.

The design and functionality also include a color LCD with USB charging, front and rear LED lighting with an integrated brake light, and a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain. The bike is also IPX4 water-resistant.

Overall, the Cyc Hunter is a well-built eBike that is comfortable to ride and performs well on various surfaces. It is a very good value for the cost.

Final thoughts

The Cycrown CycHunter Ebike is another wonderful ebike that works well both on smooth and rough terrain. The 2-battery option means that it can be used as a daily commuter or for a nice, long off-road adventure. The bike is built like a tank and works well. My only negative thought is that they should have included hydraulic brakes as opposed to mechanical disc brakes. Otherwise, this is a comfortable ride that supports good posture and is built to keep riding and riding!!

What I like about the Cycrown CycHunter Ebike

  • Very long real-world range with dual batteries, making it well-suited for long commutes and all‑day rides.
  • Comfortable ride thanks to full suspension, fat tires, and a long-padded seat
  • Strong performance with a 750 W (1000 W peak) motor
  • Color LCD with USB charging
  • 20 x 4.0-inch fat tires

What needs to be improved?

  • Mechanical disc brakes
