Design and features
The Kai Ruipu B110-600mm LED Sensing Cabinet Light is a simple product that has one function – to light up a dark area.
The best features of this light strip are that it has a peel and stick adhesive so you can stick it to the ceiling or under a cabinet without needing to get out a drill.
It also doesn’t require an outlet to power it because it has its own built-in rechargeable battery.
The battery charges through a micro USB port on the end. I guess no one told them that it’s time to update to USB-C!
The same end with the USB port also has the power switch which doubles as the mode button.
Ask you can see, there’s also a motion sensor built into the light strip. This sensor uses PIR (passive infrared) that detects a human body to automatically light up when a person is about 1.5m away from it.
The Kai Ruipu B110-600mm LED Sensing Cabinet Light has 4 lighting modes. Figuring out the modes took a little effort because the small folded instruction sheet that was included in the box was not in English. But a quick visit to the Kai Ruipu website and I found the info that I needed.
The LED light’s 4th mode makes me chuckle.
Installation
Installation was just a matter of charging the Kai Ruipu B110-600mm LED Sensing Cabinet Light and then I just placed it on top of the wire shelf in our closet.
There is something to keep in mind if you decide to stick it on the ceiling or someplace out of reach and that’s the fact that at some point you’ll need to recharge the battery and if it’s stuck on the ceiling, that means you will have ‘fun’ trying to get the USB cable to reach. Or at least that’s what I thought…
…until I figured out that the strip with the adhesive is magnetic which means that you can mount the light up on the ceiling and easily retrieve it when the time comes to charge it again.
It even means that you can mount the light on a steel surface! 🙂
Performance
With the mode set to turn the light on when motion is detected, the LED light strip works great for early mornings when one of us is still in bed but needs to be able to see to get something out of the closet. With the Kai Ruipu B110-600mm LED Sensing Cabinet Light, we just open the door and the light comes on within a second or two and then it turns off in about 20 seconds after we close the door or it no longer detects motion.
What I like
- No tools needed for installation
- Rechargeable battery
- Turns on when it detects motion
What I’d change
- Seems a little expensive
Final thoughts
The Kai Ruipu B110-600mm LED Sensing Cabinet Light is an easy to install LED light strip that requires no tools and no power cords. Just charge it up. Stick it up. And you’re done.

How long will one charge last?
John, I’m not sure yet… Where I have it, it only turns on a couple times a day. It’s been in the closet for a couple of weeks and so far it’s still going strong (bright?).
