Just Mobile is the latest mobile accessory maker to begin offering an active stylus. Active styluses are battery powered fine tipped styluses that do not require Bluetooth pairing or proprietary apps. The AluPen Digital features a 1.8mm tip, an aluminum body, a pocket clip and a twist action barrel that extends and retracts the clip to keep it protected when it’s not being used, a feature absent in other active styluses I’ve reviewed. This stylus is powered by one AAA battery and is compatible with the full range of iOS devices from iPhone to iPod touch and iPad. I’m surprised that Android compatibility isn’t mentioned as other active styluses that I’ve tried do work with Android.
The Just Mobile AluPen Digital active stylus will sell for $49.95 and will available mid July.
