If you walk/run, ride a bike, or do other outdoor activities at night, you need to make sure you’re visible to motorists. There’s a lot of reflective clothing on the market, but they may not suit you for one reason or another. With the PowerSpurz from 4id, you can add lights to your own shoes, so you won’t have to compromise on your workout gear or shoes just to be safe. The PowerSpurz are made of silicone and are waterproof. They’ll fit snugly without bouncing on shoes that have a heel width of 2.4″ to 3.3″; at 1 ounces, you’ll never notice they’ve been added to your shoes. They are powered by two, replaceable coin batteries, and you can expect about 70 hours of steady orange light or 100 hours of pulsing orange light from the batteries. Each PowerSpurz package contains one heel light for $19.95. You can find them at The Grommet.

These light-up shoes would be very practical for me because I run at night. I often ride my bike at night too. Seventy hours of battery power is pretty good.
