Recently, Julie asked every one on the Gadgeteer team to show what they carry with them on a daily basis. Well, since I began reviewing gadgets – mostly audio related – my backpack has become fuller and heavier. I decided to just list what was in my backpack on the day I took the photo. Any headphones or earphones can and do change frequently – in both brand and quantity – depending on what I am reviewing at that time. I will list the items as close to a clockwise pattern as possible. So here goes…
- Everki Versa Backpack – The more I use this, the more I like it. Even with all the stuff I carry, it is still not full; but I’m working on it.
- V-Moda M-100 headphones – I am currently listening to them and am halfway through writing a review.
- Soundmatters FoxL portable bluetooth speaker (with charging cord) – This speaker STILL makes people’s jaws drop with its sound. I often swap this speaker with the NuForce Cube, another law-of-physics bending speaker. They are both terrific. I would have included the Braven 600, but my daughter stole it.
- Apple USB/outlet plugs and wiring – The iPhone lightning connector complicated everything.
- VGA to 30-Pin convertor – It lets me run anything on my iPad to a VGA projector.
- Targus Digital Card Reader/Writer – This little gem lets me plug a camera card into a USB slot on my older mac.
- Klipsch X10i earplugs – Earphones come and go, but I STILL carry these with me wherever I go, regardless of what I am currently testing.
- Velodyne vPulse In-Ear Headphones – I am currently testing these. I also will review two Velodyne headphones; the vFree wireless and vTrue.
- Audioquest DragonFly digital audio convertor – I can’t say enough about this small gem of a DAC. It has become a necessity in my bag. Review coming very soon!
- iPhone 5 – My daily phone.
- 160GB iPod Classic – This is my music device. I would be lost without it.
- iPhone 3 – My old iPhone that I now use exclusively for audiobooks; an addiction of mine. The wi-fi chip stopped working, so it has morphed into an iPod touch.
- Apple iPad – It’s hiding in a Powis iCase which I designed and reviewed. This case is very practical.
- Fresh Naps moist towelettes – I love saying moist towelettes out loud.
- Employee entrance card.
- ZAGGsparq portable backup battery – I love this battery, but it’s getting old and it’s getting harder to hold a charge. ZAGG has since redesigned this product.
- Flashlight
- Thumbdrive
- Western Digital 500GB portable hard drive – It’s USB powered… very convenient.
- Various pens
- Victorinox Swiss army knife – This one is for emergencies. The one I use daily is a much smaller one on my keychain.
As I said , this list changes every week as I try out more headphones or other audio treats. Even with the increasing weight and bulk, it’s a lot of fun; but my right shoulder might disagree.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I loved my Zagg…but I had major quality problems with it. All three broke….hopefully the new design is better, but I’ll try another brand next time.
Thanks for commenting Joey,
To be fair to Zagg, I have had other brands of backup batteries that failed after about a year. I’m wondering if it’s the technology more then the brand.
