The Easy Transfer Cable for Windows 8 from Belkin will do just that – make transferring data to your new Windows 8 PC a snap. The 8-ft long cable comes with Microsoft Easy Transfer software (on CD). You simply insert the CD in the old computer and launch the transfer utility, then put the CD in the new computer, plug the cable into USB ports on each computer, and follow the on-screen instructions. Belkin says you’ll easily transfer “pictures, music, Windows settings, files, folders, program settings, email messages, and even Internet bookmarks. Accounts, data, and files can be transferred en masse or as selected.” Data will transfer at speeds up to 480 Mbps using USB 2.0 ports, and you’ll get a report of everything that was copied. The Easy Transfer Cable for Windows 8 is $29.99 and is available at Belkin or Amazon online and at major retailers across the US.

Turns out Windows 8 (and now Windows 10) no longer allow Easy Transfer “out of the box”. However, I’ve found this tutorial on a Windows Easy Transfer alternative which claims to do it for 8 and 10 as well: http://www.zinstall.com/how-to/how-to-use-windows-easy-transfer-on-windows-10
Will this device transfer files from an old Windows 10 to a brand new Windows 11 computer?
