DJI has announced the Mic Mini 2S, an updated version of its compact wireless microphone system and one of the most capable DJI wireless microphones in the Mini line to date, adding onboard recording, quad-channel audio support, and AI-powered noise cancellation. At around 12 grams, it keeps the same clip-on form factor as its predecessors while gaining capabilities that previously sat behind a significantly higher price point in DJI’s Mic 3.

The “S” designation refers to Storage. Each transmitter now includes 14.5GB of internal memory capable of continuous loop recording at 24-bit or 32-bit float quality, operating independently of the receiver connection. If the receiver signal drops, audio continues saving directly to the transmitter for up to 28 hours at default 24-bit quality. Combined with support for up to four simultaneous transmitters on a single receiver, a capability previously exclusive to the flagship Mic 3, DJI is positioning the 2S as a more substantial upgrade than a typical “S” revision. It launched on July 2, 2026, in China, with wider market availability expected to follow.
DJI Mic Mini 2S Specs
The Mic Mini 2S transmitter weighs approximately 12 grams and includes 14.5GB of internal storage, supporting up to 28 hours of loop recording at 24-bit quality. Recording formats include standard 24-bit and 32-bit float.
Wireless range reaches up to 400 meters using the camera-style receiver, and the system supports up to four transmitters connected to a single receiver simultaneously. Audio output modes include mono, stereo, and quad. Data transfer from the charging case runs at up to 34MB/s.

On the battery side, the transmitter provides up to 11 hours of runtime per charge and the receiver up to 10 hours, with total system runtime extending to 40 hours when used with the charging case. Fast charging is supported, with a five-minute charge delivering approximately one hour of operation.
Design and Build
The Mic Mini 2S transmitter uses a detachable, rotatable magnetic clip for flexible placement on clothing. Front cover panels are interchangeable, with Obsidian Black and Glaze White included as standard, alongside additional color options and windproof fur covers sold separately.
The updated charging case holds two transmitters, one camera-style receiver, one mobile-style receiver, and accessories, and powers on with automatic pairing when opened.
Internal Recording and Onboard Storage
Each transmitter records audio locally and continuously while powered on, independent of whether a receiver is connected. Two output modes are available for those locally stored files: the Original File retains full unprocessed data for post-production, while the Processed File delivers a pre-optimized result ready for immediate use. Files transfer from the charging case at up to 34MB/s, meaning 30 minutes of 24-bit audio offloads in roughly 8 seconds. The 32-bit float option captures an expanded dynamic range that can recover audio from clipping situations in post, removing the need for manual gain adjustments during recording.
The receiver supports mono, stereo, and quad modes. In quad mode, four independent audio tracks are output simultaneously. A safety track feature in the DJI Mimo app records a secondary backup at -6 dB per channel as additional protection against clipping. The new receiver also pairs with older Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2 transmitters, preserving backward compatibility.
AI Noise Cancellation and Audio Control
The 2S includes a two-tier AI noise reduction system. Weak Noise Reduction suppresses indoor background noise such as fans and HVAC hum, while Strong Noise Reduction targets heavier outdoor ambient noise including traffic.
Automatic gain adjustment is available in two modes: Anti-Pop attenuates sudden volume spikes, and Loudness Equalization stabilizes shifting vocal levels. Three tonal presets (Regular, Rich, and Bright) are also adjustable via the DJI Mimo app.
DJI OsmoAudio and Ecosystem Integration
Via DJI OsmoAudio Bluetooth, up to two transmitters stream 48kHz/24-bit audio directly to compatible devices including the Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6, with no separate receiver needed.
The transmitter pairing button can also trigger camera recording functions, aligning internal audio files with the camera’s clip management.
For traditional setups, a DJI hot shoe adapter enables the camera-style receiver to connect to compatible Sony cameras, delivering four independent tracks while drawing power directly from the camera body.
DJI Mic Mini 2S Price and Availability
The Mic Mini 2S launched in China on July 2, 2026, with other markets to follow. US pricing has not been officially confirmed, but the pricing structure based on CNY is as follows (USD figures are approximate, converted at roughly 7.15 CNY to 1 USD):
| Configuration | CNY Price | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|
| 1-to-2 Bundle with Charging Case | 1,199 CNY | ~$168 |
| 1-to-1 Bundle | 629 CNY | ~$88 |
| Mobile Bundle (Phone Receiver) | 629 CNY | ~$88 |
| Standalone Transmitter | 399 CNY | ~$56 |
| Artist Collaboration Cover | 199 CNY | ~$28 |
Note: The Mic Mini 2 was not initially certified by the FCC for US sale at launch. DJI is expected to pursue FCC certification for the 2S, but US buyers should verify availability before ordering.
Who Should Buy the DJI Mic Mini 2S?
The 2S is aimed at creators who need redundant audio backup, work with multiple subjects simultaneously, or are already in the DJI Osmo ecosystem and want to avoid stepping up to the Mic 3 in size or cost.
It is less suited to those who already own the Mic Mini 2 with no need for internal recording or quad-channel output, or those who require a 3.5mm lavalier mic input, which remains absent on this model. The Mic 2 and Mic 3 address that need. Solo creators on a tighter budget may also find the original Mic Mini, starting around $99, a more practical entry point.

DJI Mic Mini 2S: Final Verdict
The DJI Mic Mini 2S brings internal recording, 32-bit float support, four-channel capability, and AI noise cancellation to DJI’s lightest wireless mic form factor, at a price range of approximately $88 to $168 depending on configuration. With the 2S, the Mini line finally stands on its own as a serious audio tool, not just a budget fallback to the Mic 3.
US availability remains pending FCC certification, but the 2S is available now in China with additional markets to follow.
