LG Electronics didn’t just show up at KBIS 2026. It showed up with a luxury laundry line nobody expected, a cooktop that literally vanishes into your countertop, and three new design collections celebrating a decade of its SIGNATURE brand. The exhibit runs February 17 through 19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, and it covers a lot of ground.

Here’s why it matters.
1. SKS finally left the kitchen
SKS has been LG’s quiet flex in the luxury appliance space for years, the brand that serious kitchen designers spec when they want something considered rather than flashy. But it’s been a kitchen-only story until now.
At KBIS 2026, LG introduced the 29-inch SKS WashCombo and SKS Dryer, both powered by AI-driven fabric care technology. They’re designed to pair together for a fully integrated laundry setup, and the positioning puts them squarely in the ultra-premium tier. LG hasn’t released pricing yet, but the company is calling this part of a “Technicurean whole-home living environment.” Wordy branding aside, the intent is clear: SKS wants to own every room in your home, not just the kitchen.
2. The hidden induction cooktop is the real showstopper
The SKS Hidden Induction Island System sits completely invisible beneath the countertop surface. Pair it with a downdraft hood that disappears when it’s not running, and you get a kitchen island that looks like a plain slab of counter until you turn it on.
LG is also showing a new 36-inch Full-Flex induction cooktop with two extended cooking zones that support oversized cookware up to 12.6 inches across. Live cooking demos are running at the booth for anyone who wants to see the SKS appliances in action.
On the refrigeration side, the 36-inch Integrated Column Freezer and Column Refrigerator automatically adjust cooling and ice production based on how you actually use them. LG says the system optimizes cooling and ice production based on usage patterns.
3. LG SIGNATURE turns 10 and finally admits luxury isn’t one-size-fits-all
LG SIGNATURE is celebrating its tenth anniversary by expanding to 10 kitchen product categories and introducing three distinct design collections.
The Iconic Collection pulls from the color palettes you’d find in high-end condos. The Tailored Collection lets buyers customize materials and finishes. And the Seamless Collection, developed with Italian luxury brand Poliform, is designed to blend into any interior style without calling attention to itself.
This is LG leaning into the idea that one luxury aesthetic doesn’t fit everyone, which feels like a more honest approach than trying to sell a single design language as universally aspirational.
4. AI and Core Tech tie the whole lineup together
The hardware on display runs on LG’s proprietary Core Tech components. For laundry, that means Dual Inverter Heat Pump technology and the AI DD motor. For refrigeration, the Zero Clearance hinge in LG’s Fit and Max line allows flush-to-wall installation without sacrificing door swing.
On the software side, LG is demonstrating its AI Home ecosystem through the ThinQ AI platform, including the ThinQ ON AI Home hub, ThinQ UP for personalization, and ThinQ Care for maintenance alerts. LG Shield handles cybersecurity across the system. None of this is entirely new if you’ve followed LG at CES, but KBIS is where it gets shown in a residential context rather than a convention center demo.
5. ThinQ Pro is a direct play for the builder market
LG is presenting appliance packages designed specifically for residential developments, including compact kitchen and laundry configurations and double-configured Styler packages.
The bigger news on the B2B side is ThinQ Pro, a space management platform for builders, installers, and property managers. It uses QR-based setup and centralized monitoring, which means property managers can onboard and track appliances across an entire development without needing to configure each unit individually.

The Bottom line
LG isn’t trying to win one category at KBIS 2026. It’s trying to prove it can cover an entire home, from a cooktop you can’t see to a laundry pair that matches your fridge, and still keep the design story coherent. Whether that ambition translates to actual kitchens and laundry rooms depends on pricing, availability, and how well these LG premium kitchen appliances hold up once they’re out of the booth lighting. For now, the hardware looks serious, and the direction is worth watching. (And oh, it will be interesting to see this side-by-side Samsung’s Zero Clearance products.)
