REVIEW – Although I mostly work remotely, there have been a few occasions when I need to go back into the office. I needed a bag that could carry all my tech I would need while in the office. I had a small backpack that was too small, and a giant backpack that was too big. Was the Aer Slim Pack 2 the Goldilocks work bag I was looking for?

Design and features
The Aer Slim Pack 2 is one of the most aptly named items I’ve had the opportunity to review. I wasn’t prepared for just how slim the bag was. In fact, I was a little hesitant thinking that the Aer Slim Pack 2 was maybe a little too slim.
I had a very specific need that I wanted to see if the Aer Slim Pack 2 bag could satisfy. Working from home, I have all the stuff I need to do my job, but when I travel or need to head into the office, I need to pack not only the essentials but also items that help make remote work productive.
Since becoming a remote worker, our company has converted our assigned desks to “hoteling desks”. Basically, any desk is up for grabs, and each desk is very barebones. Because of that, not only do I need to bring my laptop, but I also need to pack:
- mouse
- keyboard
- power supply
- dock/hub
- laptop stand
- additional monitors/screens
- headphones
- reading glasses (showing my age)
I know, first-world problems.
The bag that I used to use when I was an in-office worker only needed to carry my laptop. But it could not fit all the items above. Looking through my garage, I found another bag, but it was too big and my stuff would flop around inside.
As I started to pack the Aer Slim Pack 2 bag with all my items, it was a little magical…Not only was I able to put my stuff in the bag, but it wasn’t getting any bigger! The Tardis of all bags!
I can see the Aer Slim Pack 2 being perfect for commuting on trains. The bag fits close to the body, and you don’t need to worry about knocking into someone whenever you turn around or have to navigate through a crowd. And for those who bike or scooter to work, you can feel safe with the weather-resistant materials used.
Funny thing, before I had the opportunity to review the Aer Slim Pack 2, I had watched a YouTube video comparing a “normal” bag with a bag purpose-built to carry tech. In the video, the creator chose a bag from Aer because of the tech intentionality.
Rather than a school backpack that basically has one giant space, the Aer Slim Pack 2 has plenty of pockets for tech and EDC items. I like this because I don’t need to rummage through a bunch of stuff to find what I’m looking for. I found there was a place for all my items, and the included tracker pocket is a nice feature to have.
The only thing that I was able to carry in the Aer Slim Pack 2 bag was my insulated water bottle. It’s not a big one, but there are no pockets to put a water bottle in. But there was enough room to put a couple of standard 500 ml water bottles inside the bag, but not ideal to have liquids in the same compartment as your tech.
Final thoughts
The Aer Slim Pack was almost the “just right” bag for me for my trips to the office. Everything about the bag was perfect except that there was no place to store by insulated water bottle. The materials, the number of pockets, the slim design….all are fantastic.
What I like about the Aer Slim Pack 2
- Slim, not bulky
- Pockets for tech/EDC
- Handles
- Luggage pass-through
What needs to be improved?
- If there were a way to incorporate a way to attach a bottle
