REVIEW – When we travel to large cities, like Washington DC or Atlanta here in the States or like London or Paris in Europe, we typically bring a small army of gadgets that need power, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and Kindle Paperwhites. Our phones need charging during the day as we are out sightseeing, and everything needs charging in the evening as we wind down in our hotel room. For the former, we normally carry around a power bank, and for the later a USB charger. But what if we could have one gadget that does both? That’s exactly what InfinaCore is offering in their P3 Pro travel charger.

Design and features
The InfinaCore P3 Pro looks like a typical USB charger. There are three USB ports on the front along with an LCD display. The top has an on/off button, and the back has a standard plug for US outlets. There is, however, a rather distinctive pair of features: The left side has a large cylindrical bump, exactly the size of a wireless charger, with the InfinaCore logo on it, while the right side has four small feet where the P3 Pro rests while the wireless charger is being used. It’s a straightforward, space-efficient, slightly innovative design that I like.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
The P3 Pro arrived in a slick, black box with neat packaging inside. I removed everything from its wrapping and then skimmed through the manual. This gadget is easy to use.
To turn it on, I pressed the power button once. To turn it off, I pressed it twice.
To charge it, I rotated out the plug 90 degrees and then pop it into an outlet. The display said that it was charging with 33 W, and I found that it took 80 minutes to charge from 3% to 96%. That’s not too bad.
The P3 Pro comes with three different plugs for international outlets:
- Type C – For countries like France and Germany
- Type G – For countries like the UK and Malaysia
- Type I – For countries like Australia and New Zealand
The plugs simply slip down onto the US plug, making it easy to take this charger abroad. Before traveling, check the country compatibility list and always bring a spare way to charge, as I know from experience that sometimes things don’t work as expected.
The InfinaCore P3 Pro can also be charged via the lower USB-C ports, the one labeled “input.” I tested this and found it worked, though I’m not sure that this is a feature I will need.
As soon as I turned it on, the LCD for the P3 Pro lit up. Although it’s small, about 1 x 0.75 inches, the display is crisp, in color, and easy to read. It displays the following information:
- Percentage of battery life remaining
- Output power (in watts)
- Time remaining (given current output)
- Input power (in watts)
- Temperature of the P3 Pro (as a slider bar)
In addition to being informative, this display has a neat trick: When the P3 Pro is put on its side, the information on the display rotates 90 degrees so it’s easy to read. That’s handy.
Performance
To test wireless charging, I set the Infinacore P3 Pro on the table and then put my iPhone 16 on the Qi2 charger. Once I hit that sweet spot, it magnetically “locked” in place and the familiar charging chime sounded. The LCD display read 15 W, and it had no problem charging even through my Otterbox case.
To test USB charging, I setup a series of three tests for the P3 Pro. First, I powered a PaperWhite Kindle, an Apple Watch, and an Airpods 2. This only took 3 watts of power, and the P3 Pro barely knew they were there. I am happy that InfinaCore supports more USB-C ports than USB-A, as most gadgets these days are USB-C. Before using this charger with a laptop, check its power requirements. Most gaming laptops, for example, use far more than 60 watts.
Second, I charged an iPhone and two iPads simultaneously. This took 17 watts, and the P3 Pro display said it could charge these devices for 3 hours at this rate.
Third, I powered my wife’s 2020 13-inch MacBookPro with the M1 chip. It had no problems running it, taking just less than 40 W. The LCD display estimated that it would only be able to power this laptop for about an hour. Obviously, it would be better to power a laptop when the charger is plugged into the wall, but this would work for a while in an emergency.
On the lower back of the InfinaCore P3 Pro there is a silicone strap. Using the included carabiner, I could hang this on the back of my backpack. Personally, I would never leave this gadget exposed on the outside of a backpack, as it’s not prepared to handle sun or rain, but I might use this to attach to an inner hook, thus ensuring that it doesn’t accidentally fall out.
Final thoughts
The InfinaCore P3 Pro combines a power bank and USB charger into a single product that is a perfect way to keep gadgets charged while on travel at home or abroad. It supports Qi3 wireless charging and USB-C and USB-A wired charging. While it may not be the most powerful USB charger around, I found its 60 watts to be plenty for a MacBook Pro and a host of smaller gadgets, like iPhones, iPads, and a Kindle. If you’re looking to keep your gadgets charged while on your next road trip, I think you should pick up a P3 Pro.
