NEWS – Back in 2007, I was rocking a Palm Treo smartphone, and when the iPhone first came on the scene, I couldn’t imagine using a phone without a built-in keyboard. I found it a little difficult to get used to not having real keys to press, but once I did, I was happy with a touch screen and haven’t looked back since. That was 17 years ago, and phones with physical keyboards have all but disappeared. That is, until now.

Yesterday, Clicks Technology announced the Clicks creator keyboard for iPhone. Clicks is the first product from Clicks Technology, a new company founded by content creators and mobile keyboard experts Michael Fisher (known as MrMobile), and Kevin Michaluk (known as CrackBerry Kevin), together with a team with mobile experience from companies including Apple, BlackBerry, and Google.

The Clicks keyboard is a case that your iPhone snaps into with a Blackberry (Palm Treo) style physical keyboard at the bottom. It’s even backlit if you want to type at night.

While I love to see all types of new phone accessories, I feel like the Clicks keyboard begs the question – why? First of all, it makes an already large as heck phone even bigger. My iPhone 15 Pro Max already sticks out of the top of my back pocket when I carry it around the house. Snap it into the Clicks case, and it will tumble out anytime I need to squat down. Not that I squat a lot except for during workout routines, but you get what I mean.

The Clicks keyboard is designed for people who want to get work done on their iPhones. I need to get one in my own hands to see if it actually helps me type faster because these days if I need to enter a lot of text into my phone… I just use my voice and let my phone translate it to text. It works great, and it doesn’t cramp my hands and doesn’t make my phone any larger than it already is.

What do you all think? Are you excited about the Clicks creator keyboard? Let me know in the comments below. And if you are, you can go check out more info about the Clicks at clicks.tech, where you can preorder one for $139 – $159 (depending on the iPhone model) with shipping due starting in February.

  2. I’m excited by the concept … I loved my Treo keyboard, before switching to the first iPhone. Plus, I think it’s really neat that “Mr. Mobile” is running this project. That guy does amazing phone reviews and has a deep love for hardware.

If only I had the correct phone size for this keyboard. I sport a 13-mini and love the smaller size of the minis.
