NEWS – Full-sized multi-tools are great and we love them here at The Gadgeteer. But many people’s EDC needs are more basic. That’s where a pen like the Kilitn 10-in-1 tactile pen might be an alternative choice. First of all, the Kilitn is a pen so it can replace an item that you’re already carrying while adding 9 more features like a flashlight (2 sets of batteries are included with purchase), a glass breaking head, a rope cutter (built into the pocket clip), an emergency whistle, magnesium rod, bottle opener, Philips screwdriver, and a straight screwdriver. The biggest issue with this pen multi-tool is that you can only attach one tool at a time so you’ll need a small pouch to carry the extra tips. Still want one? It’s only $17.99 from Amazon.

I received one of these for Christmas, it feels well made and suited to the task.
I don’t know the seat belt cutter being in line with the pocket clip is a good idea, but I haven’t sliced a pocket open yet.
My main complaint is that the “multi functional too” is a choice. You have to decide what’s important enough to have on there, and there’s no storage for the other devices.
I am also not a big fan of having to unscrew the pen to use it and the fact that the “cap” then doesn’t fit on the other end – it’s just separate from the device until you screw the pen back in.
eClipse, thanks for your firsthand thoughts on this multi-tool. I first thought the seatbelt cutter location was crazy until I realized that its location is “outside” the actual pocket clip.
I totally agree that not being able to house/store all the tips is problematic. They at least should include a pouch or tube to hold them.
