REVIEW – Living in Michigan, one item you must own in the fall and winter is a warm pair of gloves. And with virtually every device from phones to in-car displays having a touchscreen these days, touchscreen gloves are even better. I’ve tried several pairs of touchscreen gloves over the years, and they usually fall into one of two categories. Functional, but not very warm, or warm, but not very functional. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been testing a pair of double-insulated touchscreen gloves from Mujjo that are supposed to be both. The weather here in Michigan has been pretty cold lately, let’s see how they held up.
What is it?
Mujjo double-insulated touchscreen gloves are touchscreen gloves designed to be used in cold climates.
Design and features
The gloves are made of soft stretchy wind-resistant material and feature Mujjo’s unique silicone grip strips on the fingers and palm. The silicone strips help to give you a better grip on your phone while using it.
What makes these gloves different from Mujjo’s other touchscreen gloves is they’re designed to be worn in cold climates. The triple-layered design features an outer layer made of a wind-resistant Micro Pique. A soft microfleece inner layer adds more wind-resistance and sandwiched between the two is a layer of 3M™ Thinsulate™ for extra warmth.
Fit and feel
The gloves run pretty true to size. I usually wear mediums, and the mediums I received fit well. If your unsure of what size to order, Mujjo has a printable size guide to help you decide.
Putting the gloves on, they felt a little stiff at first. But after wearing them a few times, they conformed to my hands and became very comfortable. The microfleece lining inside the gloves was instantly warm and comfortable against my skin.
Most touchscreen gloves only give you functionality from one or two fingertips. But Mujjo uses a highly conductive material that mimics the conductive properties of the skin so that the entire glove, including the palm, is touchscreen compatible.
The gloves performed great. I was able to easily navigate the large screen of my iPhone 11 Pro Max to launch apps, scroll, and text without issue. And the silicone grip lines kept my phone firmly in my hand. The gloves also worked great with my Apple Watch and the touchscreen display in my car.
Warmth
The touchscreen functionality was awesome, but the big question is, did they keep my hands warm? To test this I wore them while out walking my dog on a brisk 34º afternoon. The walk lasted about 45 minutes, and I’m happy to report that afterward, my hands were the warmest appendages on my body. And when I got home, I was able to use the touchscreen on my Lockly smart lock without removing the gloves.
Overall, my experience using these gloves was excellent. They were comfortable, extremely functional, and kept my hands nice and toasty.
What I like
- Comfortable
- Warm
- Non-slip grip strips
- The entire glove is very responsive with any touchscreen
What I’d change
- Nothing
Final thoughts
Finally, a pair of touchscreen gloves that not only offer great functionality but keep your hands warm! It’s been nice being able to use all my touchscreen devices outside without having to pull off my gloves. The Mujjo Double-Insulated Touchscreen Gloves are the perfect gloves if you live in a cold-weather climate, and are by far the best touchscreen gloves I’ve ever used. With the holidays fast approaching, these gloves would make a wonderful gift.
