Design and features

The controls for these are very simple. Press your left earbud for power, play/pause, and forward/backward. Press your right earbud for power, Bluetooth, play/pause, to answer or end a phone call or use a voice assistant.

These controls worked just fine, and my husband (who tested them) could imagine using the built-in controls while in the middle of working out. However, I expect most people will control the headphones via whatever device they’re hooked up to, which is how we’ve primarily used them.

Setup

Setup was easy. These came fully charged, and the left and right are clearly marked.

Bluetooth pairing was simple and easy, as well. However, one time they tried to pair with a smartphone while they were stored in the closed case, which made my husband drop a work call as his phone began trying to connect to the headphones. It wasn’t a huge deal and hasn’t happened again, but it’s worth noting.

With multiple devices paired to the headphones, it’s sometimes hard to distinguish which device you’re on, which means you have to manually select it from your paired devices Not a big deal, but it is an extra step.

We liked the case design. The headphones charge in the case, which is very compact and is magnetic in order to pop the earbuds into their proper charging position. The power cable connects from the back of the case for quick charging, with the USB C connected to the case, and you can plug in the USB A side wherever is convenient.

These fit comfortably in the ear, and they’re lightweight and stay in place, even during a 6-hour stretch. However, they are a bit large and bulbous, and some may say they look a bit funny while in your ear. As a result, my teenager wouldn’t wear them, at least not in public. Adults, and anyone who’s not especially vain, probably wouldn’t mind so much.

Performance

Sound quality was good, especially for earbuds and at this price point. We tested them listening to music, playing games and taking phone calls without any issues. There was no static and decent base, making for a clear, stable sound.

The manual says it has a battery life of 30 hours of uninterrupted playtime, and we found this to be accurate and impressive.

The manufacturer also claims that it has a 49-foot range, and again it exceeded expectations. Unobstructed it still sounded good at 65 feet away from the phone it was paired with. With an obstruction (our sliding glass door) it worked until about 30 feet away.

The earphones we tested are black, but they are also available on Amazon in solid white with a matching case.

What I like

  • Compact size, efficient case
  • Comfortable
  • Long battery life

What I’d change

  • The shape of the earpiece

Final thoughts

As long as you’re not terribly vain, these are powerful, quality earbuds for the price point.
