When I get a new tech-toy, one of the first things I do is look for accessories designed to protect my new device. Typically that includes a tempered glass screen protector and some sort of slim, form-fitted leather case. Burkley was one of the first manufacturers out of the gate to release cases for the iPhone 7/7+. They sent several cases for me to try out and see how they fair against the competition.Β
Snap-On Case For Apple iPhone 7 Plus In Rolex Black Leather
The BurkleyΒ Snap-on case for the Apple iPhone 7/7 Plus in Rolex black is handmade andΒ perfectlyΒ fitted for the iPhone, adding very little weight or bulk to the sleek and slim smartphone. The case has a ultra-thin rigidΒ polycarbonateΒ backbone covered with high quality βRolex blackβ leather. The pebbled leather has an excellent feel, elegant look, and is very well finished.
The outer layer of leather is bonded to the impact resistant polycarbonate infrastructure.Β The smooth rubber finish and natural Turkish leather skin inside the case protects the back of the handset against scratches and smudges.
Instead of push-throughs, the Burkley cases have cutouts that allow access to the iPhoneβs volume and power buttons. The Snap-on caseΒ covers and protects a majority of the iPhoneβsΒ right and left sides.
The case wraps around all fourΒ corners of the iPhone but leaves the top and bottom mostlyΒ exposed. The speakers and Lightning port are readily accessible. As you can see, the sides of the case extend slightly past the screen to provide additional protection if you lay the iPhone facedown.
Ultimate Snap-On Stand Case For Apple iPhone 7 Plus In Antique Coffee Leather
BurkleyβsΒ Ultimate Snap-On Stand Case For Apple iPhone 7 Plus in antique coffee leather is very similar in design to the Rolex black leather case. The Ultimate snap-on case uses the sameΒ ultra-thin rigidΒ polycarbonateΒ backbone but is covered with distressed coffee brownΒ leather. The nylon stitching of the wallet is straight and nicely done.Β The smoothΒ leather has a softer and thickerΒ feel to it and is very well finished but with a more rugged look.
The major difference between the two Burkley cases is that the Ultimate stand case is not only a wallet but (as the name implies) can also act as its own kickstand for handsfree viewing. The wallet part of the case is stitched on one side andΒ swings out from the back to hold the iPhone 7/7+ upright.Β The wallet is held in place when not being used as a kickstand with embedded magnets under the leather and has 3 slots for carrying credit cards, ID, and a few bills.
As I said, other than leather type and the addition of the wallet/stand the two cases provide the same basic look, design and protectiveness for the iPhone.
Burkley Snap-on cases are handmade from premiumΒ materials. They provide good protection,Β are easy toΒ take on &Β off, and designed for freeΒ access to all of the iPhoneβs ports. The leather on both is excellent, finished well and gives grippability and a great feel to the iPhone. The basic Snap-on design is relatively minimalistic. While the Snap-on Ultimate Stand case adds a kickstand for handsfree viewing and card slotsΒ to hopefully eliminate the need for a wallet.
