Timbuk2, makers of the recognizable 3-panel messenger bags (which are great for holding our gadgetry) have recently redesigned their very popular Classic Messenger Bag. The “Classic Messenger 2010″ has added functional features which some thought were lacking in the previous version. As in the past, it is available in two styles, pre-built and custom. Both [...]

I wouldn’t consider myself someone who collects lots of tools. But I do have enough tools that it has gotten a little out of control in our garage. It has reached a point where I have to question myself about where that tool is that I am looking for. So I jumped at the chance [...]

LapDome Inc. makes a line of the most unusual laptop bags I’ve seen. These bags, when collapsed, look like more regular laptop bags. Some are padded and used to carry your laptop; some are not padded and are meant to be carried in your regular laptop bag as an accessory. All pop open to make a [...]

More then just funny capitalization (yes, that’s really how they spell it) Kamiliun uses a modular system to create a flexible backpack/bag system from mix-and-match components. I received the Chicken or the Egg package consisting of a ‘letterbox’ back on the left, above, designed to carry a laptop or other large slab-like objects, and a [...]

Aerovation is among a small group of companies that has been certified by the TSA to manufacture and market approved cases that allow you to not have to take your laptop out for the trip through the x-ray machine. How do these bags work, and are they worth the effort? We’ll see.

On the heels of the itsy-bitsy T-Pack for netbooks comes Timbuk2‘s new Breakout Messenger, a generously-sized bag designed for your hulking 17″ laptop. A cross between their Outtawhack Daypack and the Commute Messenger, this seems to be an answer to the critique that even the Large Commute was just not quite large enough for a [...]

My daughter needed a laptop bag that would carry her Dell 14” Inspiron 1420 laptop and a few essentials. She doesn’t take her computer to school, so she had no need for a huge bag with room for books, notebooks, and the like. She just needed the laptop, power brick, and a few other basics [...]

The Sumo Laptop Purse is not just a laptop bag, it is a laptop PURSE. And yes, there is a difference. If you are anything like me, you end up carrying several different bags daily, including a laptop bag, purse, gym bag, lunch, etc. Hooray for laptop purses like this one made by Sumo, because [...]

Gear bags are all the rage these days, most sporting voluminous cc’s of storage space and a plethora of pockets and compartments for storing our gadgety goodies. The BUILT Laptop Backpack follows a bit different philosophy. Looking like a cross between a sport parachute pack and a bullet-proof vest, this über slim and contoured carrier [...]

A few years back my car was a SAAB 95 estate (station wagon). The 95 is perhaps not so large by US standards, but for most of us Europeans its a big beast. For vacations we really did not have to care about packing – we just threw everything in the back. For the last [...]

I remember as a kid traveling with my parents (aka, back in the day) when there was no security at the airport or during college being able to say goodbye to my girlfriend at the gate. But sadly those days are forever gone…. Today, we have painfully long lines to get through security where you [...]

I’m pretty particular about what I want in a laptop bag. I tend to prefer backpacks because of the more even weight distribution, but I’ve recently been using messenger bags again. My current favorite is the Ice Red Drift. When Julie sent me the Expand-It from BBP bags, I thought it looked interesting – but [...]

Just in time for the holiday season, the fine folks at SLAPPA have released a new series of gear bags with the Aura PRO-TOUR laptop backpack. In the past, I have reviewed CD cases, laptop bags and sleeves from SLAPPA and I have always been impressed with the quality of their products.

Do you use a laptop sleeve to protect your laptop when you carry it around or place it in a larger bag? Have you ever considered that the sleeve that you’re using could be holding in heat and slowly damaging your battery? bbp bags have considered this fact and are offering a solution with their new Breathe Sleeve.

I am always looking for a better mode of transportation for my laptop and other supplies/accessories/junk. Last month I completed a review of the Alienware Odyssey Messenger Bag from Mobile Edge. Now it time to check-out another Alienware branded bag, the Mobile Edge Alienware Orion Messenger Bag.

The main thing I hate about traveling is going through airport security. You know the drill, take off your shoes, jacket, metal items in your pockets and place them in a tray. Then remove the laptop from your shoulder bag and place it in another tray. It’s always a hassle once your items come out the other end of the Xray machine because you have to hurry up and gather them before you hold up the line. How would you like to make your life a little bit easier with that task? How about if you didn’t have to remove your laptop? Well now you don’t have to thanks to the Checkpoint Flyer laptop bag from Tom Bihn.

For the past seven years, I’ve been using the same messenger bag as a laptop bag. I got it for free at a conference, and by the end of those seven years, it looked like they should have paid me to take it. So, when the opportunity arose to review the re-designed version of the Tom Bihn Empire Builder bag, I jumped at the chance.

My Dell laptop backpack has seen better days. There are several places where the material has frayed and it seems like it gets worse with each passing day. That is why I jumped at the opportunity to review a new bag.
Mobile Edge has put together a line of Alienware branded bags. This review covers the Mobile Edge Alienware Odyssey Messenger Bag. Although my current bag is a backpack, I actually prefer the messenger style of bag in terms of look, accessibility and comfort.

I mentioned to Julie a few weeks ago that I’ve been looking for the perfect laptop backpack. Since I started my new job, I’ve been
using the Ice Red Drift messenger bag. Even though it’s
not a laptop bag, it worked pretty well, seeing as my Dell XPS M1330 came with a very nice sleeve. I also really liked this bag. Its
one major problem is that it’s a messenger bag. I sometimes have to make the mile and half trek home from work by foot (mostly when
I lose track of time and miss my last bus home), and a shoulder bag eventually starts to hurt my back and shoulder from the
unbalanced weight. I already have a couple laptop backpacks, but neither were exactly what I want.
