Complete Your Ensemble with the TV Hat

on January 30, 2011 6:00 pm

I thought the TV Hat was a joke at first, but it is apparently a real product.  The curtain that hangs from the front and sides of the hat’s bill has a pouch inside that holds an iPhone, iPod, or most other MP3 player so that you can watch videos without glare, without others seeing what you’re watching, and without you seeing the funny looks you’ll be getting.  Use the included neck shield, and you can use this while you are serving in the French Foreign Legion.  The TV Hat is available as a hat or visor in blue, white, red, khaki, or camouflage for $29.99.

The folks that sell this MUST paired it with the PADX-1 LEDGE!!!

As funny as this looks, I can’t help but think it would be nice on a flight or something.

As my wife reads over my shoulder, she just said “I know what I’m getting you for Valentine’s Day.”

I doubt the “camouflage” color will do you any good in hiding in the corner in shame….lol

Although it does look very weird there are circumstances when it could come in handy. On holiday on a sunny beach it would be nice to be able to watch a movie but without one of these it would be virtually impossible. I think there may be a market for these.

The player device is held at a very short distance to the eyes, so I wonder if any normal human will be able to focus correctly.

At first glance, this looks super-silly, but could be very very useful for situations where distraction is needed (e.g. injections/operations/ fear of flying). If you can stick an ipod touch in there, you could also play some accelerometer style games by moving your head (a la Stevie Wonder!). Maybe good for people with movement problems/paralysis?

Who would dare to put this thing off after use, scared of being recognized by some one who knows you.
    It’d be soooo embarrassing !
    LOL
