You know how you can control some smartphones with your voice? Would you like to do the same thing with your home theater? Now you can with the Amulet Voice Remote for Windows Media Center. This remote doesn’t look much different than a typical remote control, but it has a built in microphone that listens for your voice commands when you tilt it upwards. You can say “Play artist Kings of Leon” and it will do just that. Or you can say “Watch program Big Bang Theory” and it will do so. You can even skip commercials by using a command. The remote is available now for $259.

How does it skip commercials? Do they have to be pre-marked on recorded disk? Do you have to pre-set a time for it to skip forward by?

@marak I’m not sure how it skips. There’s a voice command in the demo that says “Skip Commercials”. I’m guessing it can some how detect them. My old ReplayTV DVR had that feature.
