Shayne Waters has been chosen as the winner of the Green With Envy Contest. Since we just posted a new Featured Gadgeteer story last week, I’ll post the winner’s story for November. I think everyone will get a kick out of it, as it’s pretty funny :o) The other good stories will be posted in subsequent months.
I got a chance to try out iTunes new video downloads. No, I don’t have the Video iPod (yet), but due to the fact that my electricity blacked out last Sunday night, we missed new episodes of Desperate Housewives and Gray’s Anatomy. Desperate Housewives just happens to be one of the 4 TV shows available for $1.99 an episode at the ITMS. I had one heck of a time downloading the 194.5mb video file. I know the problem was totally the fault of my Direcway satellite ISP though. The download would get to about 75% complete and would crap out because of FAP (fair access policy). It took me 4 tries and 2 days to get it finished. At least iTunes would try to start back where it left off (one time it didn’t and started from scratch). I really think downloading shows like this is the future. Yeah, with a little effort you can get shows off your Tivo, but this is so much easier… well, easier if you have a good broadband connection!
Now I need to find Gray’s Anatomy… hmmmmmmm
